I'm basing my opinions on berbatov, that when Rooney is injured/rested Berbatov starts. It's not that difficult a concept to figure out. I have read all your posts and you don't think berbatov is playing well - i have no problem with this. What i do have a problem with is you "being sure" he will be replaced a striker that has not played one minute in the EPL and in not in a good run of form for his country.

Ok now we are getting somewhere and again you mis-quote me

I never said of being sure he WILL be second choice striker, i said im sure he will be sooner rather than later ahead of Berbatov and i have given my reasons for this, thats all, its my opinion that he Hernandez can impress early on and then get a good run in the league and if he scores here and there who knows what way Fergie will see it.
I'd like to see this happen because of my dissapointment with Berbatov.

Oh yeah you said - 'If you know anything about soccer and SAF you should know it will take alot more than this for him to replace Berbatov who is the second choice striker''

I asked you what you were basing that on, and you reply had nothing to do with answering it, you just said the obvious about berbatov starting when Rooney is injured.

''I'm basing my opinions on berbatov, that when Rooney is injured/rested Berbatov starts.''

Maybe you should read what you said before answering me.I was just wondering why you said that.
What more can a striker do than have a good start to the league and score goals, which is what i said about Hernandez, what is ''a lot'' more that a striker can do to become the second striker ahead of berbatov?

So you're sure he will replace berbatov as second striker then?

I don't find it plausible that Hernandez will start the season getting much game time, i don't think he'll play that much at all. I'm basing this on it will take him a few months to settle in.

Just so you know you said this in your last post:

I never said of being sure he WILL be second choice striker, i said im sure he will be sooner rather than later ahead of Berbatov

    and followed it up with

What more can a striker do than have a good start to the league and score goals, which is what i said about Hernandez, what is ''a lot'' more that a striker can do to become the second striker ahead of berbatov

Before we go any further can you see the contradiction in your last post?

LMAO So your not going to answer me, nah i didnt contradict myself far from it, I gave an example of why a forward would be considered ahead of Berbaflop.

I said he will sooner rather than later in my opinion, and gave legitimate reasons.

If you cannot see the contradiction in your last post i'm done with you.

It's the part where you say

I never said of being sure he WILL be second choice striker, i said im sure he will be sooner rather than later ahead of Berbatov

But then refer to Berbatov as second striker.

    Get a f ucking clue.

you think Hernandez will take over from Berbatov as second striker? did i read that right?

ok, i know it doesn't go 4 days in here without the Berba hate, but sometimes it just gets a bit too much, even for a Liverpool fan like myself.

    i'm not his biggest fan at all; but he has had a decent season, and is not a flop. and there are a couple of things wrong with your assertion that Hernandez will take over from 'Berbaflop';

    1) Berba and Rooney work well together.

    2) when Berba hasn't played, it's generally been when Fergie has gone with one up front. Berba can't do the 'up front on his own' thing, but when he gets partnered with Rooney, they've done well, so he's fairly solid in that role.

    3) and the biggest of all...have you seen Hernandez? he is in no shape to knock Macheda down the pecking order yet, nevermind Berba. he'd get bullied out of the PL right now, is likely to only play Carling Cup games for next season (unless he bulks up ridiculously fast), and generally isn't in Berba's league now.

you need to start thinking sensibly about your expectations of Hernandez, as well as how much of a flop you rate Berba as.

Agreed, watch some of Mexico in the pre WC friendlies and you'll get a sense of where he's at. Waaaaaaaay to undeveloped to even consider giving him a big role to play.

agree wit a lot of wat rick said. except i wouldn't say he had a decent season, i would say he had a mediocre one. very good at times, very poor at times.

Good man Slick. Sad that it takes a Scouser to some in an put and end to the most tedious argument in the history of the thread.:pac:

Also for those expecting to nsee Hernandez tomorrow night, hasn't he been on the bench quite a bit for Mexico lately? We'll probably get 10 mins of him at best.

HAHAHAHA that deserves that First you ignore my question then crap on about what i said about Berbatov being the current second choice striker and my opinion about what i would like to see happen in the future, thats not contradiction.

Edit cheers for reporting me, just shows who the child is, I knew all along what your aim in trying to argue with me was.

Well the answer was all we hoped for and more eh Ric?

I'd agree with Ireland suiting better than the other two, not really a fan of milner tbh and still not convinced over Modric.

I think a creative midfielder is more of a priority than a striker, we've scored plenty of goals, it's dreating them in tight matches that have cost us, Burnley, Blackburn are the two that spring to mind at once.
    lordgoat wrote: »
Yes the clear lack of goals this season, mainly due to ronaldo going has been the biggest downfall. Do people even watch us play?

I think we should probably invest in two if not three more strikers, play them all with some attacking wing back and that should mean we don't need to invest in a creatvity lightmidfield.

Nah would rather see him come on for the last 10 mins and score the winner! England are mad playing at Wembly with the state of the pitch.

Wow im impressed with the consternation ive caused with my original comment about hoping to see Hernandez picked over Berbatov during the coming season, even Eamon Dunphy wouldnt get as much a reaction if he said it :D

The fact that you're happy you got a reaction says it all really, doesn't it?

because it's based in nothing rational.

Hernandez is young (21, 22 in a few days), in a completely new country and culture, and is f*cking tiny. there should be no hope or expectation on him to be anywhere near Berbatov's level yet.

you're welcome to want him to be at that level, but you're going to be bitterly disappointed i reckon, unless Utd get very lucky and hit the jackpot with him. but hitting a jackpot like that is very very very rare.

Says it all about what? I find it funny the way some people take a comment i made and change it through an argument, I'm not happy about that and couldn't give a toss if my comments get a reaction or not, i just give my opinions on Man United.
