Shipment was the one with like four shipping containers and that was it right?

Never had COD4, but one of my mates did... Vague and unpleasant memories of it.

Yeah thats it. I was useless in it so i think its a bs map.

Couldn't agree more, I would have waited for these new ones because no doubt they'll have some special deal for the two packs when they come out in June.

Shipment is 100 kills near guaranteed HQ, Sabotage and Domination in COD4.

Agree with the comment above. Too early to release another map pack. I assume they'll release another one around the time of COD Black Ops being released as well later this year.

I was hoping they would include Crossfire, as it was one of the best maps on COD4.

    From Kotaku

The old maps are Vacant and Strike, while the new maps are called Trailer Park (a tight, constrained map), Carnival (a big fairground) and Fuel (a sniper's paradise).

I quite liked Vacant, wasn't that keen on Strike..

    .

Shipment never appeared in Sabo, i know because Ive never played that map, after 2 years of pure sabotage it should;ve come up.

Which brings me to my next point, as the stimulus package forced me to play random game types I actually broadened my horizons for the first time since moving from CTF to Sabo when MW1 came out, i now enjoy the odd game of S&D, it can be very skillful when played with a decent bunch of players.

As for Vacant & Strike in the new package, the ludicrous situation of buying maps that i already own AGAIN aside, Vacant might be good as air support will be virtually ineffectual here and I loved Strike, fighting for control of the high ground was always a larf, chuck in a pavelow or chopper gunner for good measure and it could be even better.

Know you said that, yeah I remember now.

Strike is perfection IMO be it for pub matches or clan matches. My favourite map easily.

Strike wasn't my best map so that's why I probably don't like it as much, looking forward to Vacant though!

Considering the killstreaks in this game , District , Strike and Ambush would probably be the best maps to bring over, sadly my beloved backlot is left out.

I liked Vacant in COD4 but I think it will be complete unbalanced carnage in MW2.

For example imagine, being spawn trapped in a Dom game in the outside part of the map. No where to hide(except one cargo holding I'm fairly sure) from air support.

Strike is perfect in that it's balanced IMO as well District.

    Agreed

If i had a choice of what to bring forward COUTDOWN would be my favorite, it had a bit of everything.

Wait, I'm wrong actually, I was thinking of bog for some reason - getting completely mixed up with the maps!

Happy enough with Strike actually, although would love to see Downpour

So many better maps then Vacant. Pipeline, District, Crossfire, Backlot and Ambush, all better imo

Backlot, Crossfire, Pipeline. All better maps than Vacant and Shipment and all the MW2 maps except for (somewhat ironically) Overgrown and Crash.

EDIT: Add Strike, Bog and (even though a lot of people didn't like it) Downpour as better than Vacant/Shipment.

Just realised Strike is in there, didn't read the whole thread :o

I was excited when I heard Crash and Overgrown were going to be included in the Stimulus pack and to be fair to IW the other three new maps are fun too.
While Strike was also a great map Vacant was not one of CoD4's stronger maps so Pipeline and Backlot would have been much better. You never know though, MW2 may suit Vacant and if the new maps are at least as good as the first map pack it won't matter too much.

Not having played Cod 4, (at least more than a handful of hours) there's a general consensus that CoD 4's maps were all better.

    Why?

Is this classic gamer nostalgia 'amg, WoW was so much better before BGs and when MC was liek totally exclusive' (been a long time since I played, they probably moan about the good old days of BT now.) or is there a basis to this in fact?

Were those maps actually that well constructed?

Or is it just that you lot all preferred CoD4?

    Backlot and broadcast...best maps ever...

Good point above, no new spec ops missions being introduced really does suck.

I for one enjoyed doing Spec Ops. Arguably the best moment for me playing MW2 was completing Specs Ops on Veteran in an all nighter with my mate. Good times.. plus completing High Explosive another time on my own(the stress of that sssh) :)

Perfect maps that are left and should be brought from COD4 into MW2 IMO:

    Strike
Pipeline (probably on the limit admittedly)
    Crossfire (like Pipeline)
    District

Backlot would probably just miss out for me(love Backlot in COD4 btw)

Those maps for the most part I'm fairly sure of it can the handle the ridiculous killstreaks. Some of the maps mentioned the posts above are not thought out for the reason I just mentioned. The new maps, well it's difficult to give an opinion based on a screenshot but.. I do like the look of them. Suits my eye if you get me, much like Terminal, Crash, Strike and a few others did.

I totally disagree with you, where are people saying that cod4 maps are better than mw2, everyones just comparing the cod4 maps and which of those they enjoyed most.

Imo the overall quality of the cod4 maps isn't above or bellow mw2, they both have there good ones and they're bad.

    Black Temple and Illidan...

It's a feeling I pick up from here and other places. I may be wrong. Doesn't bother me.

IW should have gone out to the Community to see what COD4 maps players would like to see included in the mappacks, I reckon there will at least be one more before November.
