UPC box crashing

In the last week, my UPC TV box has been crashing. When I go to change a channel or switch between one and another it merely freezes (although of course the signal is fine). It happens also when switching between the TV signal and the Radio function using the remote. This can only be remedied by plugging the unit out and then plugging it back in again a few minutes later. The lights then go on, off and on again before the display defaults to 00:00 but sometimes it just goes back to being operative again.

Could this be a hardware issue?

I am using the basic digital TV package (combined with phone and bband) without a DVR facility.

And maybe someone here has experienced this? Or has been in touch with UPC about this issue?

your best bet is to ring upc and ask them to send out an engineer

Just a thought, have you tried resetting the box to factory settings? This is supposed to help with alot of problems. I also agree with the OP ring up UPC technical help, they have a freephone on 1800 941 990. Hope you get it sorted soon. Good luck!:)

Thanks for the replies. I have not tried a factory resetting as suggested but I have logged a call with their technical people and hope to hear from them soon. Thanks again.

I'd personally ring them (on the number above) as you might be waiting a while for them to actually get back on to you! Best of luck.:)

I find Hard-Rebooting the box once a week helps.
