Accessing signal strenght menu on Thomson DVR

I was having problems with some BBC channels on NTL recently. An NTL tech guy called on Friday and accessed a menu which shows signal strenght for the channels. Some were below 30%. I have a Thomson Digital DVR.

He told me the problem was elsewhere and said he would pass it on.

Is it possible to access this menu to check for myself? I presume you have to enter a code to do this, anyone know what it is?

    Thanks

If you have the Thompson DVR (silver box), then on your remote control press Menu 1 7 8 9

This brings up a lot of info - use the down arrow to scroll through the different screens. The 7th screen gives you the signal strength and quality info.
