Any way to style a listbox?

Hi all

I hope someone can help me with this.

I'm trying to style a listbox - I can get it to work in Firefox but it doesn't work in IE. (IE ignores most of it).

I'm using something like this:

.search-box select option {
	width:200px;
	margin:0;
	padding:1px 1px 1px 1px;
	color:#000;
	font:14px Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
	vertical-align: text-bottom;
	border:1px solid #c6c6d4;
}

Is there any way I can style a listbox in IE, even using a JavaScript hack or something like that?

Any advice gratefully appreciated.

There is an article showing how select boxes/listboxes look like in different browsers. Although it is a very old article (AFAIK Sept 2004) you should be able to view the sample pages in different browsers and see what styles work in IE.

I don't think you can style a list box directly. But I think you can use tools like jQuery to repalce various form elements and skins them completely. (probably not worth the hassle)
