Transport via rapid partitioning in the golgi. huh?!

    While I know about the two classic models for transport through the golgi, vesicular and maturation, I came across a third model called rapid partitioning. Anyone care to explain this as I have have bother trying to visualize the mechanism...

    It just means that there is no lag time between materiel entering the Golgi body and exiting on the other side, it's all done rapidly...
