Hi Guys i see Lidl are selling wetsuits this week.

    http://www.lidl.ie/ie/home.nsf/pages/c.o.20100506.p.Mens_Neoprene_Shorty

I know nothing about wetsuits, so im wondering would this wetsuit be any good for a Triathlon? Im traning for the king of greystones which involves a 700m sea swim. If not can any recomend me a place that sells cheap wetsuits? Thanks guys.

Tis very cheap alright. I was in the new Portwest store in Dublin, they have wetsuits around €70 I asked if they were suitable for a tri and they reckoned not, apparently your better to get a tri specific one. Mind you I'm doing my first one this year and €30 sounds like a good start. I look forward to some "experts" replies

I used one of the Lidl wetsuits last year for a Tri, didn't want to spend huge amounts to realise I didn't like it. The suit did the job, however I think the Irish water could be a bit too cold for a shorty.

the lidl wetsuits aren't even good 'traditional' wetsuits i.e. for surfing or larking around.

They're very ill fitting all over.

Having said that for 30e it might be ok for your first sprint tri - if your hooked (and you will be) you can upgrade. All you've got to lose is 30e

I got mine here http://www.irishfit.eu/ .... they weren't that much more expensive than online stores you'll find but it was worth it for the piece of mind in getting a proper fit and some advice
