SKY and Chorus/NTL - Are they starting to feel the (economic) heat?

Earlier this week, my brother phoned Sky and said that he felt they were too expensive and was considering leaving them. After some discussion, they reduced his monthly sub from €83 to €55. A reduction of 33%!

For this he is getting the basic channel package plus Sky Sports, Sky Movies and Setanta 1 (he's a rugby nut). All for €55.

This is not BS, it's fact.

I'm with Chorus. The reason being that I'm a talk radio nut and I have analogue radios all over the house connected to Chorus outputs. I also have Sky Sports and Sky Movies, but not Setanta 1.

However, the radio reception has disimproved over the last while and (this is the really annoying bit for me) there is no red button with Chorus. So, if you're watching something like Wimbledon, you can't switch to another court.
This is a major minus with the Chorus service, in addtion to the fact that I'm paying €65 per month.

But, I think I'll call them and see what they say.

The squeeze could be on. Would be interested to hear from others on this.

    D.

UPC charge you €10 to change your package. I doubt they'll give discounts, but best of luck and let us know how you get on.
