Hi everyone, I am new to this site. find it very useful, i done my ist for second time on 23rd March, Still waiting on results :rolleyes:. From North, I am a postman and can tell you all that it is to do with the volcanoe in Iceland that is holding alot of mail back as most post is brought over by air. The people that have got theirs have been lucky as only some mail has came over by boat past few days, All is getting back to normal now and should be fully operational again by Sat.

I thought the PSNI headquarters were in NI and would be marked here.
Anyway its not going to bring the results sooner knowing the answer.
I really hope I pass as it would mean alot. 9000 applicants though??! It's worse than the apprentice, ah what it must feel like to win the PSNI candidate lotto!:D0 -

I'm happy enough just getting through the IST, top 2000 out of 9000, that's not bad going on it's own! Although top 440 would be much better
And Deloitte is a big company, they could possibly send them over to the mainland for marking due to the quantity of them, sounds a bit a*** about face but we all know how random this process is!0 -

I only missed a pass by 11marks like wtf? I never failed an aptitude test before. Regardless, I feel like the forum here/or Deloitte should have some kinda booby prize for Top 50 lowest IST scores, to like boost our confidence and stuff, build community relations and garner the PSNIs public image, maybe arrange for us to be driven in a police car and let us use the siren

Its not bad going no, and I absolutely wish you all the best for the rest of the process.
However, ISTs are nothing more than a snapshot at a specific time of a persons ability which, in my opinion, in no way represent a persons true capacity in terms of all those assets any employer may be looking for. It's merely a medium to 'sift' through an overwhemling number of applications.
A fairer, though more logistically/financially difficult method could be to have say 3 or 50 sets of ISTs per candidate on different dates in order to statistically justify the arguments of inadequacy which, in my opionion, are justified in regards to a single sitting IST.
Maybe just a bad loser? but as an employer who has initiated recruitment requistions and followed through to selection, I know how difficult it is when applications run into 100s, never mind 1000s.
Regardless, pluginbaby, I dont want to take the wind out of your sails, but I felt you statement was extremely shallow and constricted with no feeling for others who have failed and have just read it.
[for crazylegs benefit] *rentacop gets on soapbox* As a police officer you need to be aware of and make adjustments for individual situations. You should hope to be able to recognise and consider peoples feelings and therefore deal effectively with situations. From my point of view [just mine anyway] you lack in people skills.
Ultimately, I'm just saying that one careless, insensitive, and albeit unintended remark has sparked me off. i hope you might learn the impact of such things.

Hmm in fairness dude, I think pluginbaby's just happy that (s)he got through the first stage.. it is a big relief when you get that first piece of success in a process as harsh as this I would imagine..
And I'm totally not getting at you but like his statement hardly condemns him/her to s**t people skills... well, in my opinion anyway.
