The last episode of House was filmed using a Canon 5D mkII, non tripod shots even without the use of a stabilization rig!!

Can't see the face-fit innovation in those shots but I'm surprised that in his quest for ergonomics he's completely sacrificed the grip.

A simple viewfinder extender/magnifier is what I'd like so my oily nose doesn't smear the lcd. Morto.

This is a photoshoot for Esquire UK. It was shot in HD using one of those very expensive Red cameras. The resolution is so high from the original video, that frames were used for the front cover and an article inside the magazine.

Folks, the times they are a changing.... ;)

Any one else recieve a mail on flickr like this?
    Hi Rich!

I'm part of a team of volunteer creatives called The Living Communities.

Based in Dublin, Ireland, we promote cultural diversity and celebrate the little differences that make being part of society an interesting thing. It's all about customs, events in history and most of all our languages, that connect us to other people and remind us where we originally come from.

In this context we create info material like brochures and films, and we promote local businesses and invite people from all over the world to visit the Irish-speaking minority here in Ireland.

We are about to produce a short film about Irish language and how it is interestingly linked to other languages like German and French.

We are looking for awesome photos that we could use as stills in that project. Your photo fit perfectly into the arrangement.

It would be featured amongst the photos of other great Flickr members. Of course we would mention your profile name, real name or no name at all, whatever suits you best.

There is no profit interest behind what we are doing. We will gladly send you a link to show you our work when it's done.

Please let us know if it would be ok for you if we use the following picture:

    Thanks a million :-)

Those Red cameras are really strange looking. Only came across them the other day. They kind of look like something from an '80's si-fi film.

Using cheap things bought on e-bay, I have mounted old KODAK Anastigmat F4,5 - 10.5cm lens on a body cap and attached to macro bellows from H-K.

In fairness, most of the shots are out of focus and I am struggling to keep the correct exposure on manual, but there might be some test shots tomorrow.

This is a very cool little rig. Do you know what it's minimum focusing distance is.. or it's maximum?

It's a neat bellows.. too bad it can't move in 2 dimensions though. I hope you get the hang of it & show off some really cool shots!

All you need is a compass, a ruler, a pencil, a drill, a file, this, this and some (older) lens for few bob from e-bay.
The focusing distances are approximately from 15 cm (from the lens) up to behind the infinity. That is because of the macro bellows that are for macro and not for the 105mm focal length of the lens. There might be some confusion regarding the lens that was designed for at least medium format film and I have full frame DSLR. But it is Canon fit, if anybody wants to try that next time I am around ;-)
