    Hi there...
Quick question on behalf of the father-in-law...
He's an eircom customer, recently upgraded gratis to 20Mb domestic broadband service, and can't seem to make or take Skype calls anymore. I've looked at the application and it seems fine - he can see who's online, available etc. and try to call his contacts....but it doesn't make a connection. Just wondering if eircom have 'blocked' Skype on their end...Anybody facing anything similar ? Failing that, could it be the McAfee AntiVirus on his PC blocking something ? Again, any suggestions on how to troubleshoot appreciated.
The other thing is, there *is* an error message on the Skype application that suggests "you need to fing a WiFi service that supports Skype Access..." or something similar to that - which leads me to the eircom blocking assumption...
    Thanks folks

Double-check that error message and find out EXACTLY what it says.

There is a Skype feature called 'Skype Access' :

and it sounds like the problem might be related to that.

    Thanks mate.
It's not a message (error or otherwise) you can click on. It's something visible by selecting from the Menu bar...I was looking for a diagnostic tool I could run, similar to the Messenger application to test connectivity, and I came across that Skype Access notice.
I think he was going to try to talk to eircom today to see if they had any suggestions...
