There's still time to save Bebo. I propose we ALL set up accounts, and try to save those 40 jobs. It is our moral duty not to let a part of our shared pasts die.

Josef Fritzl always fulfils his moral duty.

I'm not sure they'd go to Facebook; a lot of them think it's too boring.

Its a typical chav thing to do is follow the leader ,hopefully not on to facebook anyways . KEEP BEBO ALIVE :D

Id imagine anyone hating on it probably doesnt have anyone to add tbh.

Thats a stupid statement, 99 % of people in the our soceity has friends.Every one knows some one on social sites.Iv no bebo etc.. profile there crap, boring and if you dont know some one and add them as a "friend" they are not your real friend there just as bored as you are at that moment.

Ive no real problem with these sites but ive no intention to show people my photos. If its on the page then someone can see it.dont tell me you can set it to private cause it can still be seen by at least one other person you dont know or trust .ie site workers. Its only viable to keep these things going without paying by selling your info.Ill keep my name age face away from pervs thank you.

You're pretty paranoid aren't you? And where did you hear that Facebook sells user data?

Here's something that weirded me out about Facebook. There was a guy that I used to trade stuff with on a website, we contacted each other only through PMs on that website (just a standard forum) and out of nowhere, I get a friend request from him on Facebook. It turns out that I was in his suggestions on Facebook. Both of us don't have a clue how I ended up in his suggestions, and I'd like to what criteria Facebook actually relied upon that allowed me to end up in his suggestions.

Are you using Hotmail? Did you ever let Facebook scan your Hotmail/MSN contacts? I get friend suggestions from people who sent me e-mails (if I still have messages from them) and also suggestions from people I've long deleted from MSN.

Well like I think this is just of much of a good thing for Tagged then FaceBook.

Tagged is ment to be similer to Bebo as far as a know and Bebo is very different to Facebook, thats just the way I looked at it.

True, Facebook isn't aimed at the Bebo crowd at all. How long do boards users think it'll be before MySpace goes under too?

My Space seems to be going after a niche market though. Was it bought for big money?

Mad Men's Don Draper : What you call love was invented by guys like me, to sell nylons.

oh no, now where will feuding gang members threaten each other or scumbags organise football riots??
OMG is that really what went down on bebo!?! Facebook all the way i say, although I dont know if i would pay to use it??? I think charging companies to use it for fan pages & groups would be a good idea, but not personal pages

I wouldn't mind facebook so much if it wasn't so bland looking, and it didn't take account of every goddamn thing you do on facebook! i dunno, people seem to be pretty negative about Bebo. I'd rather Bebo, since it's halfway between Facebook's banal, almost monochrome appearance, and myspace's unstructured, seizure-inducing wallpaper animations.

not in this thread, but i don't understand why people equate facebook with a "grown up" social networking site. What's grown up about throwing sheep, biting people, farming crops etc? Maybe it's just the teen-stigma that Bebo has. I like colour!

I would agree that it's gotten much quieter over the last few years. I have a facebook account but find it very hard to get used to. (it's look, i mean)

So when when's Bebop going under?

Complaints about Facebook and MySpace and their appearence, Bebo's pretty desperate in my opinion. Some reasons:

The skins stretch out the page -- some are awfully made.
The apps crowd the page, makes it slower to load for some of the folk not on high-speed broadband. They're also ridiculous and make no sense. Apps and the page design drove me away from Bebo not to mention the amount of children and utterly idiotic people on the site and none of the friends or people I know.

That's fair enough! I'd like to think my page/groups are an exception! [i don't want to pimp my pages here unless you ask :o] There's no adding apps to group pages so it doesn't affect my bebo'ing at all; but I've seen the apps being abused on people's pages. I don't think any site can compare to the number of respectful intelligent opinions here on boards but we've built up a smart, tight community on bebo so it really sucks it's going to be cut off.

If facebook allowed skins (even for just me to see) i'd be a lot happier...

Ah I see. It's just that certain elements of Bebo torment me.

Facebook doesn't have skins, just normal blue and white afaik.
