Will Fernandez be ready to play straight away like Valencia or will he be on the reserves to begin with? Only heard about this a few minutes ago.

ps: could we all start being nicer to each other? I enjoy reading this thread but the little bitchfests are getting annoying. Let's just talk about Manchester Utd.

no one can say at this point. I suppose it will depend on pre-season. Coming straight from the Mexican League to the Premier League is a massive change - could take him some time to adapt the style of game in england.

I have never argued with anyone here, and it gets annoying reading some of them, when they are personal attacks on eachother.

But, i like that the people posting are passionate about their opinions and the club, so sometimes it can make a good read!

I hope Hernandez will go straight into the squad. Especially if he does well in the World Cup, it would be strange if he was put in the reserves then IMO.

Al, your timing is as unique as ever. :)
You're right Boggles, signing some unknown mexican lad who is young and totally unproven proves that Saf has the Ronaldo money  i said significant investment, not a couple of fringe players.

Was gonna say, for an undisclosed fee to boot. Hardly David Villa.

What would you think will happen if he has a great World Cup and only a decent enough pre season Mitch? Has that happened with a United player before i wonder?

I think if he has a good world cup with some goals he will go into the first team squad. Then if he has a bad pre season the excuse will be that he was tired from the world cup.

I hope he turns out to be a real gem. Would love to know how much he cost though.

Maybe he paid £40m for him. Seemingly, that'll keep people happy.

Didn't realise they had to be 30m signings with 3 World Cup medals and a Ballon d'Or to prove we have the money.

It's undisclosed, it could be 5m, 10m or 20m - who knows. Who cares.

Would prefer to get rid of Berbaflop before Owen TBH. He aint any use as a lone striker and awful as an impact sub. If only we had someone like Smith/Saha for back up

he will be treated a bit like Diouf I reckon, maybe given a bit more time if he impresses in the World Cup.

With 7 players on the bench for games nowadays, I reckon he will get sub spots, and his appearances will depend as much on how the team in general performs in order to allow us to bring players like himself and Kiko on, and when he comes on he will need to prove himself.

I would be surprised if he is expected to be a instant impact player - he will have been bought with an eye for the future and what he could become.

We could find that the plan is actually to send him out on loan for the beginning, or all, of next season.

As I have said a few times today, I reckon 451 will remain our more prominent formation, so I think no striker bar Rooney will play all that much.

Always happy to see United do business quietly and quickly. Its the transfers that get leaked to the media that always seem to go tits up in recent times.

You didn't hear him properly AL, The people that mater (ie not you) say that there are funds available to the manager (ie the manager himself). I appreciate that you might struggle with the concept of a manager that actually tells the truth about the backing he recieves from the owners .

I'm on this side of the arguement too, tbh.

But, what the fook do we know compared to Fergie and Gill in all honesty?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,372 ✭✭✭✭Mr Alan

Fergie and Gill who receive massive amounts of money from the Glazers to do their job? I'd imagine you have the ability to be a bit more objective than they do tbh

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,430 ✭✭✭Sizzler

A bit shorter than the earlier clip, the lad can finish :)

I don't give a flying fcuk if he cost £20 or £20m, its amazing theres people on here knocking the fact Utd might have actually got a bargain. Someone said as well "hes no Villa", seriously WTF? He's 21, rate him in 5 years and see where hes at.

Hats off to Utd's scouting network, proves they are actually doing their job.

    Goals 5, 6 and 8, quality.

Actually, if i was half the troll you think i am, it'd be in my interest to say the Glazers have backed Ferguson in the last few years and that you've loads of money. Fact is they haven't, and i'm not convinced you've a pot to piss in, which in actual fact makes Ferguson's achievements more impressive, something i'd prefer not to have to say.

I don't think you are a troll AL, more the liverpool version of myself.;)

What would be the reason for not disclosing the transfer fee?

edit: The song in that video is great!

Lots of transfer fees are undisclosed but it usually comes out unoffically, give it a few days.

If they're the only place reporting it, i'd put money on it being any fee apart from that
