Maybe this will end any speculation about us buying a big name striker.

Its likely he sell a striker but who that is? He rates both Wellbeck and Macheda highly so you would assume its Owen or Berbatov?

Good to see young blood brought in always. He looks good in the air based on the total of 40 seconds of footage I've seen so he might work well with Valencia, we'll see. Owen is a dead cert to leave imo.

    Midfield next Fergie, midfield :)

    7?

Wow! Jumping the gun? More likely that he will get Tosic's #14 imo.

    :pac:

I don't think he'll actually get 7, but it's the number most suited to the hype that'll follow him til he arrives.

I'm fairly sure no. 1 in that video of his top 10 goals was in the top 10 goals of the week on 101greatgoals a few weeks back. Therefore, he'll be the greatest striker of all time.

We can always hope. Berbatov to be sold in the summer?

    Right,

As soon as i saw the SSN infobar i went on Facebook to hit up my friend Billy from Mexico who is a season ticket holder at Club America, i asked him if he knew who Javier Hernandez is, he just hit me back with this:

"Of course Mikey!! I hate to say this cus he used play for Chivas who I absolutely hate, but he's an awesome player. He's very young and in just one year he's become mexico's best striker. He was in the Mexican team who won the u-17 world cup and he'll be playing alongside Carlos Vela in the upcoming world cup. He´s strong, fast and scores goals out of nowhere. I really like Man U so I must say I woke up to great news. Let's just wait and see."

Nice perspective from a fan of the league.

    Who would take Berbatov?

    Lots of clubs I'd say.

He's an excellent player but really doesn't fit the system we're playing at the moment.

I don't think he's capable of effectively leading the line on his own, but could be very effective in a two man forward line...

    The mob?

Ah. I meant who would buy him? He's 30 so is reaching the"decline" of his career.

not too bothered if this means we do not get a big name striker such as Villa and Benzema. As I was discussing earlier, I feel we are likely to stick with 451, so a stiker is not a priority - top class midfield additions are. Hopefully we make them.

Will certainly be interesting to see what happens with regards our strikers in the summer.

We have 3 established stikers in Rooney, Berbatov and Owen. I'm not pushed about Berbatov or Owen to be honest. Backing that up we have Diouf, Kiko, Welbeck and Chicharito. If we are sticking with 1 up top I think 1 of the senior strikers will need to be sold at least and probably 1 of the younger strikers.

Rooney, Berbatov, Kiko, Chicharito, Diouf would be my line up. Welbeck, however, might be saved by Fergie reckoning he can do a job on the wing too.

We could also see Owen stay and then see a number of the younger ones loaned out.

We could even see Chicharito loaned out, to get him used to the league - it is a possibility. I wouldn't like to see it end up like Forlan who found it hard to adapt (while being in and out of the team) and end up being sold and go on to be european top goalscorer!!

We seem top heavy on strikers now in terms of numbers. Wonder what Fergie plans on doing here.

Who would your choice of strikers for the squad next season be?

To be honest I think he might be on a "sell-to-buy" mission with Berbatov to raise funds for other purchases...

I would sell Berbatov as I reckon we would get a bit of money for him(nowhere near the amount we paid mind)and I would let either macheda or diouf go on loan, leaving us with Rooney, Owen, Wellbeck and Hernandez. hmmm.
