That it's something they already have? A striker happy to sit on the bench?

You think Berbatov is happy to sit on the bench?

Haven't seen anything to indicate otherwise, unless you're going to suddenly enlighten me?

What have you seen that indicates he is happy to sit on the bench?

The fact that he's been there quite a while(on the bench). Haven't heard anything from the player or his agent kicking up a fuss, usual disconcerted player being benched stuff. United having been playing a single striker for quite a while now with Rooney being clear first choice. It's not looking like he'll be starting anytime soon unless Rooneys leg is hanging off.

So he hasn't expressed his unhappiness, ergo he must be happy?

    Superb logic there.

Just wonder if leaving Scholes out was good idea. He can be late with few tackles but overall he gets stuck in and distribution is very good.

So do you think he's angling for a move then, or going to persuade Ferguson to change his formation?
It's quite sound logic tbh since most benched players express displeasure at being benched or will just leave.

What makes losing worse was that the Spurs match didnt need to be changed to Saturday and it wouldnt have cost me an extra €200 :(

Very disappointed with last night, I would have put Macheda on for Rooney when we were on top. All the running Macheda did against Chelsea, and he always seemed to be sniffing around the box too.
Could have used that last night.

He has been very poor in big games recently, Bayern last week included, plus he had started the last 2 games before.

I would have loved him instead of Carrick but apparently Fergie doesnt see the damage Carrick has been doing to us of late.

Great logic there:rolleyes:.. May be you haven't had a player who's happy to do whatever it takes for the team to do well.. May be you haven't had the likes of Solskjaer in your teams...

    Good retort.
He'd rather start a non fit Rooney in a crucial European tie than start Berbatov, the 30m signing. What would you think if you were Berbatov?

Seems to be a bit of a problem at right full. Olic goal was very soft and against Chelsea, United had their problems there to.

my transfer picks for the summer would probably be the following:

Rodwell, Milner and Gourcuff. However, you'd probably be looking at a combined fee of 60million (maybe more) so that Ronaldo money would have to be available.

As regards a striking option, it depends on what Fergie's real opinion of Kiko and Diouf are, imo.

Hang on now. Stick with what you are saying.

Berbatov is happy to sit on the bench.

Your evidence. "His agent hasn't said anything to the press"

    As I said priceless.

Not writing him off, but Gourcuff up against it last night went missing.

What we need is ready made class.

I'd like Milner alright, he is not going to make the midfield tick though.

Oh so now you're going for euphemism. Irrelevant about the team doing well. Most players want to play every game and rightfully so.

Personally, I'm not worried about it. not so much that I would be looking to make a signing there.

Rafael is promising. Yes he has made mistakes, but that will happen with a young player. I would more (EDIT TO ADD 'look') look at the performance he put in while he was playing last night - he was brilliant vs Ribery, only really got the better of him once, and that resulted in the sending off, which was disappointing. On top of that, you have injuries to the two other 'first choice' right backs in Brown and O'Shea. So at the moment we are picking between a potentially great, but inexperienced and our, possibly, 4th choice right back. Sure, there have been issues there in recent weeks, but given the options it isn't that surprising, or worrying imo.

    In:
    Benezma
    Ribery
    Diego
    L. Diarra

    Out:
    Berbatov
    Carrick
    Owen
    Neville
    Foster
    kusak

No maybe you should read it again. My evidence is also that he's still on the bench. He's been in and out of the team for 2 seasons, so unless he's not happy, why hasn't he left?

Just the one 40 year old goal keeper for next season then?

Have to agree. I'm pretty sure there has been at least one occurance when Rooney was sent off and pretty much cost us a game?

    He's much more mature now.

Rafael will only learn from that mistake.

Ready made class in the AMC role will cost a record fee - and I can't really think of one we could get. Iniesta, Kaka, Gerrard, Lampard, Sneijder... who else? (none of them gettable imo) Maybe van der Vaart? Next in line that I can think of would be the likes of Hamsik and Gourcuff, maybe Diego too. Modric is another you could look at as well, and would have the advantage of premiership experience. However, he is a spurs player so would cost a fortune and turn out to be crap !! ;-D

If we go for an AMC, i don't think we can get ready made class - we have to look at someone approaching that level at best imo.

EDIT: As for Milner, no - he wouldn't make the midfield tick, but he would be a good option on both flanks and can play AMC or MC too. If required he can do a job in the full back positions too. He is a talented player but also very, very versatile so would be a very good addition to the squad (and rumours hinted last week that we are looking to sign him)

I forgot about that, CSKA goalkeeper or Schalke goalkeeper would be nice. We need major investment in the squad and need to add quality.

Benezma, 9-10 months into his contract??
Diego 9-10 months into his contract?
Ribery - Not worth the money
    Diarra - Just no.
