Ok...for fans of The Shins, your going to love this band. It's a side project of the lead singer, it's brilliant. Unlike the shins, you can actually make out the lyrics and dare it say it....understand them.:p (don't get me wrong, I love the shins, but I read the lyrics to phantom limb before....still can't make them out)

Never really could get into them. I bought Wincing The Night Away for someone as a birthday present once since he had been raving on about them. Gave it a listen or two but it just didn't click. Quite like those two Broken Bells songs though so I'll have to return to the Shins sometime soon.

People overrate that cover, I can never understood how some say it's better than Nick Cave's original. Cash's version is good but he takes the sting out of the song. I was left with goose bumps the first time I heard the original.

I have listened to neither of them, but I assert that the original is better. My assumption is based on Cash's cover of Hurt (Which I like, but it isn't a patch on the original)

I've always loved this tale about Rick Rubin ringing up Cave and asking could Johnny Cash cover the song.
