iTunes and iPod problemo

Hi, I own a pc which had iTunes on it with over 1000 songs. Unfortunatley my computer was being a bitch so it had to be put into recovery, and iTunes was deleted aswell as all the music files on my computer.

Luckily the music is on my iPod but I'm told that if I plug my iPod back into a blank iTunes then it will erase all the music when it syncs with iTunes. How can I connect my iPod back to an iTunes without losing all my music?

    Cheers! Shane.
