Chorus NTL PVRs - are they any good?

My PVR (the silver one) reboots itself at least once a day, taking my recording schedule with it. does anyone else have this problem? Is the HD PVR any better?

yes, have had no issues with it so far.
excellent picture and love the digital+ service. how did we ever live without it.

I have the silver box, and it's pants. Very slow interface and not a great interface in the first place.

Is there another box from them? Or is it possible to use 3rd-party boxes? I see PVRs onsale in harvey normans etc., can you just shove the card from your pvr into these, or otherwise decode stuff?

You can only use UPC's equipment on their network.
