To be honest with you I havent won much but judging by the posts most people seem to receive their prizes. previously to joining this site I was always wondering if there were real people who won or were there real prizes even. Three years ago I won a dish when it came it was broken, when I went back to them they had none left. I still have the broken dish!! Have to take the good with the bad I suppose.

I think because its such a popular site that its hard to win. My approach is to give sites with several competitions a year. If I don't win then, I stop entering. On my blacklist are pigsback, entertainment.ie and the rte guide.

Anyone any bad competition wins, like anyone ever win a prize and never get it, or prize was awful and you wished you'd never won it?
I won a very nice prize of a certain makeup brand, pack was to contain loads of stuff, foundation ,powder, blusher, eyeshadows etc. , but never got the prize. Chased it twice with the site I had won it on, and gave up after that. don't think it was the site's fault to be honest, more the cosmetics company

Still chasing down a mountain bike i won on facebook from rowntrees randoms

They have been ignoring my e-mails since november/december. Last one sent in February, cant find a contact number.

This has been going on since AUGUST!! There has been 3 days that it was ment to arrive after receiving phone calls. Then they said the one that I chose was no longer available and picked a new one and never heard anything back since before christmas

    Any advice???

Also havent got my €30 cheque from flirt with 3 yet, only a won just over a week ago, but if this doesnt arrive I giving up on facebook competitions forever!!!!!:pac:

I won tickets to a concert with entertainment.ie and the guy sorting them out getting them to me was very helpful.

Also got to go to a few screenings from Movies.ie.

A friend won tickets to one of the summer music festivals from Pigsback.

And I got two presents of Benefit lip gloss in the post yesterday! Delighted with that. :D

I've had a few where the prize never materialised despite my robust efforts to get the prizes.

www.dublinpubscene.com have a bad reputation for not forwarding prizes. I won something, think it was a tshirt and despite repeated attempts to get it they kept ignoring my requests for it. I've also seen on another website where a number of people have won on this site and they never got their prize.

Won a helicopter trip to a sports event of my choice in the island of Ireland but it took the threat of getting on to the consumer agency to even get the person offering the prize to speak with me and the person who sponsored the helicopter part of the prize no longer had the helicopter due to economic downturn so got chauffer driven to the match instead.

Have to agree with you on this one, I found the above sites very disheartening after a while....I think the one-off comps are good.

With thanks to Aiken Promotions we have a pair of tickets to give away to Turin Brakes live in Whelans, Dublin on June 18th. Just answer the following question:
What do Turin Brakes, Groove Armada, The Flaming Lips and Jamiroquai have in common?

Look up Rowntree's website and/or Annual Report and find the name of somebody senior e.g. Director of Marketing. Email that person ccing whoever who are in contact with outlining the problems you have been having. Keep the tone business-like but point out that you will be taking it further if you do not receive a satisfactory response.

This has always worked for me.
