    wtf??
    ???
The guy was born and lived in England, he then moved to North Dublin as a child before his family settled in Firhouse, before obviously moving to London in the 90's.That may explain his accent as authentic as opposed to "pretentious" as it has been in this thread.

I doubt anyone's going to heckle Bill Bailey's Guide to the Orchestra considering they'll hardly be heard in the O2

Not sure if you mean 'hardly be heard in the O2' because of the Orchestra or the size of the O2, so I shall attack you as if you meant the latter.

    Hey, what's all this ..

I was at Russel Brand at the O2 and three different hecklers ruined the fcuking thing.

Two morans shouting about the Queen being a c***, I agreed but it was hardly the place and some other bints screaming at him to take his clothes off

Totally ruined the gig they did.

Would you even do it at a Brendan Grace gig?

    (impossiblity I know considering he's hi-larious live)
Brendan Grace is a comedian? I assumed he was doing some kind of post modern performance art that I just didn't 'get'

Why would you vamp this thread? It was **** to begin with, it didn't get better with age either.

In fairness, anyone who slags Stephen Fry deserves to be heckled.

    I <3 Stephen Fry!

How to deal with hecklers 101.

Okay, no. I've heard it said a lot around here, Bill Hicks is the number 1 etc but this wasn't funny in the slightest.

This was Dave McSavage/Tommy Tiernan type 'I have zero wit so instead I will be loud, aggressive and make use of profanities as opposed to any decent vocabulary' type stuff.

That is not how to deal with hecklers.

I never found Bill Hicks that funny.

He's okay, I've bought a few DVDs, have one here unopened, it may very well be watched tonight but he is overrated, no question about it.

He comes across as a bit of a smartarse know it all also.

"I do drugs, nobody died, I had a goodtime.."

    Hilarious ..

I was in the Laughter Lounge watching the really short guy (on the panel sometimes?) two years ago and someone behind and to the left of me kept on heckling him. Finally he snapped and bizarrely thought it was me, he was really angry and started ripping on me. The single most embarrassing moment of my life and I was innocent!

I posted about my witnessing Dave McSavage getting heckled, couldn't be arsed typing it out again:

He actually used to work in the petrol station in Firhouse, which I also worked in, and during renovations when the staff were all getting stuck in, he was painting the floor and ended up painting himself into the corner..

Anyway, the reason I'm posting is that I loved his books, Seans Show and when he was a captain in Buzzcocks, but the live show on tv3 now is bad.. like very bad..

Why do people get so worked up about Irish comedians? Apart from there being very few even half-decent Irish comedians, it's stupid. They play so little part in our culture that you might as well get worked up about a 1c increase in the price of plastic bags. Then again, we've never been very cultured as a rule. Maybe comedy is a partial substitute for our lack of culture. We debate about comedians as hotly as other countries debate about new artists and sculptors.
