Ethernet and wireless on Eircom broadband

    I have eircom broadband and want to connect both a PC by ethernet and a laptop by wireless to my zyXel modem/router. When I connect the wireless laptop the ethernet connection disconnects. How can I run them both at the same time?

    You shouldn't have to do anything, it should just work. Either you've changed something, have something strange set up on your computers, or your modem is broken.

    Thanks. I've set wireless security as recommended. I don't think anything else has been changed. Nothing strange about PCs or modem as far as I know

    Eircom replaced the modem. Problem solved!:)
