BA 285 operating as normal as far as I can see. Getting pretty full now, Kane, what you need to know?

Just wondering, who are you flying with? thought it was continental? just wondering as I am aswell...do you have to check in before you arrive? :S this whole online check in is slightly confusing.

I'm flying with US Airways from London to Phoenix. The flight i've just checked in for is my Ryanair flight from Dublin to London.

Went to Bank Of Ireland earlier and $400 cost me €310. The only hard cash i'm bringing with me is to pay for hotels, taxis etc. Everything else is staying in the bank.

Well, Im on BA 289 on the 26th, hopefully that'll go ahead, & Im returning on BA 288 on March 30, then a connecting Aer Lingus flight. Im wondering 1. Will the BA flights go ahead & 2. If I change my returning BA flight, will it cost me an arm & a leg to change my Aer Lingus flight, or is there an alternative LHR to DUB flight.

Bigspaniard, the return flight from Phoenix - Heathrow (BA 288) on March 30th. What's the problem with this flight?

Having looked in our system I can only see AA flights to Orlando and then BA from Orlando to LON so do not think the direct flight is operating.
Its quite hard to see about peoples bookings without looking on a case to case basis, the number is there above if you need to call and I can take a look?

Is BA0289 still due to leave on Friday 26th?

To waste time I checked how much BA are charging to fly from Heathrow to Phoenix on the non-strike dates. £5217.

I would say so as it is full, thats a lot of customers to reprotect. Think it should be OK.

flight prices have been increased to stop people making bookings, thats why.

He's got short hair now, the face paint looks a bit awkward without his longer mullet hairstyle. :D

And did you see his 'comeback' match against Orlando Jordan for NWE in Spain? He could barely hobble to the ring much less run. Looks like he was out of breath before he even got to the ring :D

He was fairly hobbling alright wasn't he. Shame. I still remember his big long sprint to the ring at Summerslam 92.

Anyone know if UPS deliver on St Patricks Day? They left an invoice today and the ones at my place seem to think they will come again tomorrow to get the money and leave the parcel.

Na, they don't deliver tomorrow because it's St Patricks Day. Hopefully I'll have the stuff on Thursday then.

I'm not sure why, but this promo for the Royal Rumble sort of got me more pumped up for Wrestlemania. I think it's the way it swoops in towards the University of Phoenix at the end that does it :)

Bigspainard, how are BA deciding which flights to cancel? Is it based on how full the flight is or operational requirements?

BA strike could go worldwide as Unite looks to U.S. union Teamsters for support

Last updated at 10:35 AM on 17th March 2010

As if seven days of disruption wasn't already enough, Unite leaders are now looking to add weight to the planned strikes by British Airways cabin crew by seeking the support of U.S. unions.
Teamsters, based in America, is one of many international unions who are offering their support to Unite. The two organisations are planning to meet to discuss the walkouts, which are due to start next week.

Unions in Germany, Spain and Italy could also step into the dispute potentially causing travel chaos on a global scale.
Sources at the unions say action from overseas unions could make it impossible to clean, service and refuel BA planes.

This would undermine attempts by BA to keep aircraft in the skies and lead to more misery for the public, who already face massive disruption to flights over Easter.
    article-1258528-07A23B37000005DC-710_468x286.jpg
Militancy: Unite has enlisted unions in America and Europe which could make it difficult for British Airways to operate strike-breaking flights

Teamsters, which has 1.4million members, said last night: 'We stand in solidarity with our brothers and sisters at Unite who are fighting for a fair contract at British Airways.
'The Teamsters are an active member of the International Transport Workers Federation. ITF affiliates around the world are mobilising to support British Airways workers in their fight for passenger safety and worker respect.'

The move will raise the stakes for Gordon Brown, who yesterday failed for a fourth day to persuade Unite to abandon the strike.

A BA spokesman said: 'It is sad to see Unite seeking backing from trade unions overseas to support its unjustified strike against an iconic British brand.
Shadow transport secretary Theresa Villiers said the union was 'hell-bent' on causing maximum disruption for travellers.

She said: 'Unite should not be striking at all and trying to spread the dispute to other countries is even more irresponsible.'
Unite has also warned that BA are 'rushing through' volunteer staff to work as cabin crew to help break the strike.

Leaders have written to Transport Secretary lord Adonis, claiming 'fast-tracked, under-trained volunteers' could put passengers at risk.
It demanded an 'urgent investigation' to ensure no corners have been cut in recruiting staff from elsewhere and questioned their compliance with UK security checks.

As time runs out to avert the strikes, BA insisted all volunteers are fully trained and that safety would never be compromised.

Unite is planning to embark on a three-day walkout from Saturday, with another four-day strike planned for later this month.

It has emerged some Britons could be stranded on a Caribbean island after BA cancelled their only weekly flight home.

The flight from Turks and Caicos to London has been axed on Sunday due to the strike, with the Sunday March 28 service also at risk if the planned second wave of strikes goes ahead.
News of the bid to broaden the strike undercut Unite's claims that it is seeking a settlement with BA.
Union bosses have said they will return to the negotiating table if BA renews a pay offer from last week, which the airline withdrew after the union announced strike dates.
BA says there is no point doing that because Unite bosses Tony Woodley and Derek Simpson would not recommend the offer to their members. The airline has vowed to run six out of ten flights during the strike.
Gordon Brown has condemned the strike as 'deplorable' but has stopped short of criticising the union, which is Labour's largest donor.
Last night Labour's deputy leader Harriet Harman - whose husband Jack Dromey is deputy general secretary of Unite - was forced to speak out.
Asked if she agreed with Mr Brown, she said: 'Yes, I accept the strike is deplorable. It is not right to put at risk those who have planned holidays and those working at BA. It's imperative a settlement can be found.'

I have to admit, I'm starting to think this strike will definitely go ahead. The union really seem to be digging their heels in.

I had an element of sympathy for the cabin crew but i believe unite have gone to far tryin to rally support from abroad unions. The strike as it stand is goin to cause alot of disruption but unite are just stickin the knife in further to you and me.
    F*** U UNITE

It's well for these Unions. If I tried something like that in my job, I'd be shown the door. In fact I got a pay cut last summer and was told it was either take it or get out. Lovely.

**** the cabin crew. Don't like the way it is then quit. Times change, I'm sure their shoes could be filled no problem. They earn a ridiculous amount more than most other airlines.

BA told the cabin crew that if they strike they'll no longer enjoy the perks and priviliges. Good :) If you're so against your own company then they shouldn't enjoy the perks.
