Snail's pace when switching between channels???

    Hello,

I have a UPC recorder box. Just a few minutes ago I was trying to change channels (using the +/- button to move four channels along) and nothing happened for a few seconds. It then moved between channels at a very slow snail's pace - stopping at each station long enough for the on screen display to disappear each time.

This happens regularly and with all three methods of changing channel. Sometimes it even moves several channels too many.

Has this happened to anybody else? What could cause this?

    Cheers

This is happening to me, and sometimes the digital box turns off and won't turn on again without unplugging it for awhile. NTL twice have tried to fix it over the phone while I'm pretty sure its a problem with the hardware.

Don't know the model, it was the standered silver one. I have since upgraded to digital+ and that problem has been solved.

The black one. Which as another thread testifies has brought its own picture quality problems.
