I'm going to the Hill of Tara to knock down the statue of that Christian interloper, the very person who symbolises the overthrow of the paganism and druid culture upon which Tara was built.

The gall of the Roman Catholic church to even put that statue there in the 19th century. It's akin to putting a statue of Oliver Cromwell in Dublin.
    No you're not.

    No, really are you?

Due to the current low stock of cabbage in the country, Supermac's will not be offering 'Shamrock Shake's' this St Patrick's day.

However things are looking better for fan's of the Supermac's 'Shit Shake' launched to coincide with the barrage of Shite spouted out of politicians mouths prior to a general election.

I'm going out of town for my St Patrick's Day activities this year. Last year it was pretty crap here! I'd never seen the town more dead the night before St Paddy's Day than I did last year!

I'll then spend Wednesday recovering from the night before and then back to college on Thursday.

    I say bring it on!

A whole day in the middle of the week to catch up on study and assignment work. It'll be most welcome.

Get a good spot in the pub before 1:30 (first race in Cheltenham) and spend the day drinking, watching racing and the club hurling final. Then continue drinking for the rest of the night.

I will be working. I don't mind as it gives a valid reason to stay well away from all the drunken pissheads out killing themselves with alcohol.

Not at all. Is what I posted not an accurate description of what happens in this country of ours?

Unfortunately, I'm on Erasmus in Spain at the mo so I'm expected to go to class on Wednesday (1 til 3) and Thursday (9 til 2).

I'll go on Wednesday, right after class I'm heading to the nearest supermarket, stacking up and starting my drinking then. I'm on for an all-nighter.

No chance I'll be in class on Thursday.

And you don't live on a "high street" in a "shire" in something called the "British Isles".
I don't think I've ever heard any Irish person use the term "high street" - apart from those who have lived in Britain for years...
The "shire" thing was just used jokingly - it was not serious.

College work and sleeping late, that's about it. It's one of those holidays I really don't care about.

Do you ever 'kill yourself' with alcohol? Or maybe you 'kill yourself' by eating too much of the wrong the food?

Whilst I've recently become slightly disillusioned with Ireland's social life revolving around getting hammered, I wouldn't judge people for it. I'd be a hypocrite as I've been guilty of it at times and taken advantage of it too.

Oh and I'm going out Tuesday for a while. Not bothering with St. Patrick's day itself.
