Yeah Great news, he's a big united fan , definitely only in it for his love of the club, He won't want to be making a profit on his investments like those naughty Glazers.

Really lads a lot fans would really want to wake up and see whats going on here and have a serious thinks about what they are really supporting with the current anti glazer campaign.
Something I have been watching of late, these "saviours" could do more harm than good for the club. Fans supporting them need to be careful.

I can't believe Rooney the twat, played on Wednesday night on that heavy pitch again. He need's to cop fcukin on to himself, cos all we need now is his niggly knee for the rest of the season. Hopefully AF won't let that happen again.

you seem to be mistaking the Pini Zahavi bid that fans only heard about last night, for the Red Knights bid that has been met with cautious optimism.

Exactly , we know the Galzers and what they have done to the Club, I certainly don't want Man United to be opwned by Agents, they've done nothing but bleed money from the game via players, looks like that's not enough for them they are now focusing on Clubs. The saddest part for me is that fans are doing their dirty work for them without knowing who or what they are really supporting. It's not good.
Yes a team of agents has rattled together £1billion to buy United.

The article says your man is "fronting" a bid by a group of "wealthy foreign investors". He was involved in the Abramovich takeover. It says there's a billion sitting in a Swiss bank account ready and waiting (bit far-fetched). If true, it's very doubtful that it's Arab money as your man is Israeli.;)

Maybe someone with a better grasp of how the whole financial system works will correct me but would it be more likely that with United being a plc, any genuine talk of take-overs etc has to be publicly announced to the stock exchange?

With insider trading etc possible, I would of thought that any genuine offers to buy the club are handled discreetly and are very far along when we all actually hear about them. Has always been that case with big news, the example that springs to mind is the Ronaldo sale and how it was such a shock when it finally happened, and it happened so quickly. Cos news like this greatly affects the share price?

Therefore, I'd be extremely skeptical of the legitimacy of the Red Knights bid or Pini Zahavi (sic) and his crew.

United is privately owned, it is not traded on the stock exchange so there would be no reason to announce anything to the stock exchanges.

Haha, there goes my theory! Is the club not listed anywhere now?

Maybe its just an inherent skepticism I have towards the so called groups interested in buying the Glazers out.

Good interview with Neville in the Guardian today. Psycho picture as well. :)

    http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2010/mar/07/gary-neville-manchester-united-interview
"The education we received at this club from 16 to 20 is vital. Eric Harrison and Brian Kidd before that instilled in us what it took to be a Man United player. The idea was that you've never made it. With a young player sometimes you hear people saying – he's made it. Our idea was that you've never made it. There's always someone who's done better than you.

"I'm sat here now at 35, having done and seen quite a lot of things, but I look at [Paolo] Maldini or Cafu, or before them Denis Irwin, Lee Dixon or Nigel Winterburn, or Ryan Giggs in my own dressing room – and there's always someone who's done more than you, which makes you want to go on. And there's the absolute love of winning trophies. From the minute we joined the club – FA Youth Cup in the first year, Lancashire League division one, then the reserve-team league – you continually want to win trophies. We've been very lucky to have played alongside each other but also alongside players who have enabled us to win trophies under great management.

"You can perform well and still be out if you don't fit the plan. There are no passengers, it's a conveyor belt and, if you're not contributing to the success of the football club in some way, you won't be here much longer."

I wish Gary would retire. Unlike Scholes and Giggs, he doesn't offer much. Coaching would suit him.

Also he nailed his Dot Cotton impression perfectly. :pac:

i can't stand Gary Neville, for many reasons apart from the Liverpool thing, and the tash, but i can see why he is loved and respected by Utd fans.

if there was ever someone who you can literally believe would die for the jersey, it's him.

It's like he's writing his own eulogy. The bit about wanting to win more trophies annoys me a bit, just as him lifting the Premier League trophy in seasons where he hasn't played annoyed me. He is a bit of a tag-along at this stage and I'd respect him a lot more if he retired from playing at the end of this season.

Even as a voice in the dressing room and a guy who can teach the younger lads like the da Silvas just what it means to be a United player, I have no problem with Gary playing a bit-part player at the club for as long as Fergie thinks hes able. You cant buy the kind of pride, passion and attachment to the club that the Neviller has. A rare breed.

Just looking over Scholes stats for the season:

    1912mins
    6 Goals (2 PL, 3 CL, 1 CC)
    4 Assists
    9 Yellows
    1 Red

From a 35 year old you need to tip your hat.

Are you saying Carrick is world class?

you know very well that Carrick is the greatest midfielder to ever grace a football pitch

i think he played great yesterday he might not have a yard of pace in those legs of his but he still reads the game really well any whips in crosses and top winger would be proud of.

people being a little harsh on Nev tbh, he is worth his place in the squad still, he is decent back up and is normally still capable against the "weaker" teams, he is an invaluable presence to have in the dressing room also.

he isnt first choice anymore but he has been a great servant to the club and deserves more respect

he was actually the best rb in the league for about 10 years

he and Valencia will play well together as he is still running forward to provide overlaps and his crossing is excellent

i don't think people are being harsh on Neville at all tbh, he is horrendous now.

    This is correct.

His crossing is still very good too.

you don't lose the ability to cross a ball. its everything else he's lost. as neville himself says, there's no room for passengers, and that's wat he is now.

He'd walk into the pools starting 11.

I'd rather have one passenger, playing right-back, than eight in almost every position on the field.

lol at the notion of him being a better rb than glen johnson.

No big deal, hes fourth choice RB, hes retained as much for his influence on younger players as anything I'd imagine. Its not as if hes a regular starter.
