Aint seen any official links saying Rooney is out or hasn't made the squad...Some guy on twitter hardly makes it so i hope. :D

    true.

in other news - United have apparently signed some 18 year old belgian full back - Marnick Vermijl.

Might be some problems with it though - he was banned from training when his club found out he was negotiating with us, so they aren't too happy about it. However, talk that a 3 year contract has been agreed as well as 220k compo.

    EDIT:

    http://www.strettyender.com/united-sign-young-full
According to various sources in Belgium, Manchester United have signed promising young full back Marnick Vermijl on a 3 year deal from Standard Liege.

The 18 year old, from Belgium, was reportedly scouted several times by United this season, and the final decision was made by Sir Alex Ferguson and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after being impressed watching DVD’s of him.

Vermijl was allegedly banned from training with Standard Liege after they became aware of his discussions with Manchester United.

The English Champions will apparently pay 220,000 Euro’s to Standard Liege to secure his services.

More details as and when they arrive.

We should be more than capable of beating Wolves without him to be fair.

Too late. If Rooney is injured, its quite clearly your fault :p

In theory, we shouldn't need Rooney to win, but Wolves haven't been doing too badly at home in their last few games. They also beat us when they were bottom a few years ago, on their way to a record low points total if Im not mistaken?

Almost an air of inevitability about Owen's injury...still, he had me up outta my chair on 3 memorable occasions this season

    Last minute of City game
    Wolfsburg game
And a goal at a vital time last Sunday

    Cheers Mike, whatever happens! :D

A grand total of 3215 games, 425 goals, 46 League titles, 17 FA Cups, 9 Champions League titles and 7 League Cups - That's the cold hard stats of that picture.

Unbelievable stats. Really does make a mockery of that whole "You'll never win anything with kids" opinion. I really hope we see another youth class of that calibre in our lifetime, but the odds are stacked against it.

It was inbred in his style of thinking a bit though.Best teams always bought the best to continue success...We had tried it with young gifted players before and it worked ya know...Fergie got a golden crop which gave us a foothold in history making though it kinda came past our initial footfold. We took it.I just find offense that Cantona was the catalyst of our success. It was coming ffs, the failed 92 end of season was testament of our first title attempt in years. 91 ECWC was what gave me my first hope we might challenge. We had the makings of a team.Tommy Smith feared us in 92 because he saw what our potential was regarding merchandise, stadium capacity and actual team.He was right when he said ' God help us if United win the league'.

A natural smile is one thing but he grinds those smiles when we win shiz, which i respect though as he was such a great player but, he is a terrible pundit who still lives on football with a backpass rule.Yes we know it won you ****, but apparently it was easier to blame Souness for your club not adapting to the back pass rule when pass and move with the defence was such a trophy winner... ;)

I can think of plenty of worse pundits tbf.

The rest of your post doesn't make much sense.

Just as a matter of interest fellas, Im sure pretty much everyone has signed up to MUST. I got this from them today.

    Dear Nicky,

    Incredible.

We've been completely overwhelmed by the immediate and unprecedented levels of support that United fans have shown for reclaiming our club. It's been absolutely amazing to watch that counter go up and up and up.

We are now over 100,000 strong.

Your commitment to Manchester United made this possible.

We have shown that United fans do indeed want a change in the club's ownership, but what that change will be is something we have the collective power to determine for ourselves.

Naturally people are keen to learn details of the Red Knights' plans. However it is important to understand the relationship here. We aren't doing this so the Red Knights can take over. It is the other way around - their cornerstone of finance is giving us the chance to take an ownership stake in our club. How big that is is entirely up to us.

We can't stop now - we need to keep growing. And we need you to tell everyone you know about our campaign and get them to join us too. Get your friends involved now:

    http://action.joinmust.org/UnitingForChange

Thanks to you and over 100,000 supporters like you, we've achieved our first target. We're now working day in and day out with the Red Knights so that we can reclaim our club.

The job is not yet done. Every single supporter matters. With each new sign up our voice grows stronger. Each new voice puts us one step closer to freeing United from its debt burden and having a real say in our club's future.

Just as Sir Alex immediately looks for the next challenge after winning a trophy we need you to help us attack our next target and find the next 50,000 supporters. It'll only take you a moment, but it will have a decisive impact. We've set up a really simple tool to use - you can share the campaign on email, Twitter, Facebook, or all three - just click the link below:

    http://action.joinmust.org/UnitingForChange

These are truly exciting times. Our numbers have allowed us to knock on the door - but with your help we can kick it down.

I can truly promise you one thing: MUST will not support any bid that doesn't have fans and our club at its centre. You're the heart of this movement and we are nothing without you.

    Together, we are United.

    Thank you,

Thought it was a nice touch.

There are plenty of worse pundits for sure.

I guess the winning of trophies after that regardless of the style of play must be the confusing part ? Hey we won shiz but pass and move actually wasn't attacking football ? Simplified, the removal of the backpass rule killed your club in it's they can't score if we hog the ball mantra.Thankfully football moved on.I guess it's easier to blame the manager after that groundbreaking ruling than to look at the previous decades triumphs ? ;)

We can take it up in the appropriate thread if you wish. You posts are baffling at best.

£1bn offers for rebel Man Utd supporters
Red Knights, the band of wealthy financiers raising funds from Manchester United fans to bid for the club, has received two offers from individuals, each promising £500m to the pool, people close to the situation said.

Although not ruling out big investment offers from individuals, the financiers, led by Jim O’Neill, Goldman Sachs’ chief economist, would prefer the fundraising to come from as wide a base as possible.

In its campaign to wrest control of the club from the Glazer family and put it in the hands of the fans, the Red Knights want to ensure that any successful bid would be beneficial across social income groups, said one person with knowledge of the situation.

In spite of solid rebuffs this week from the Glazers and David Gill, the club’s chief executive, about a sale, Red Knights has been encouraged by the response to its announcement that it was planning a bid.

It is expected to recruit Guy Dawson of Nomura as a corporate adviser.

Red Knights also issued a statement to damp speculation about the size of bid they were expected to put before the Glazers.

“No specific discussions have been held in relation to the value of Manchester United, and all numbers circulating in the media are purely speculation,” said Red Knights.

“People are talking about putting their own money in and are only going to do so if it’s a fair and reasonable price – every penny over a fair price that goes to the Glazers in profit is less money that can be spent on putting the club on a sound financial footing.”

The size of the bid will depend on how many supporters are prepared to commit funds.

The Manchester United Supporters Trust, which shares the aims of Red Knights, has seen its membership double to more than 110,000 this week since the financiers went public on their plans.

The bid size will also depend on whether Red Knights intends to pay off the £709.5m debts that have built up in the club, including £507m owed to bondholders, or decide to leave the bond in place.

Cantona was a catalyst for the success, he was hugely instrumental both with his performances and how he lifted everyone around him

how can anyone not see that?

our season, up to when we signed him hadnt been going great, Fergie was under a bit of pressure again and we hadnt scored a goal in our last 4 league games

Cantona was the missing piece in the jigsaw, the gamble that paid off big time

Of course there were other big players, but to minimalise Erics contribution is just silly
