Stick with what has worked. Nani on the left hasn't. We don't want to ruin the telepathy that Valencia and Rooney have built up either.

Get the three points, go top and put the pressure on. And that's how titles are won. Nothing can be risked at this stage.

to clear this myth up, Nani HAS worked on the left but he has to get a run of games there to play well. When he was playing semi-regularly in his first season he was the best on the team at setting up goals only behind Rooney in total assists but played much less games. The FA Cup game against Arsenal in his first season is one of the best performances by any winger at United I've ever seen and Nani was on the left that time.

Then last season Fergie for some reason decided to mess him around and pretty much only play him in the Carling Cup and the odd sub appearance. He didn't get a run in the team so was desperate to impress so made all of the silly mistakes that he did.

I believe that Nani is the best option on the left right now. When he gets on form he is unplayable and I believe he can do it on either side of the pitch.

With ten games to go I'd rather gnaw off my right leg than rest Wayne Rooney.

FFS who cares if he gets tired, let him be tired at the World Cup.

players can rest when the game is won and after that when the league is won

Personally I wanted to see Nani on the left and Valecnia on the right weeks ago against Pompey at home and they were not tried, it was the perfect oppurtunity to test if that formation works and Park got his game on the left instead. If Fergie is unwilling to play the two of them together in that game which was at OT, then he is unlikely to change his mind away against Wolves. He prefers to compensate the flair players like Nani/ Valencia with the workhorses like Park.

Is Nani's ban over? That seemed quick.

nani and valencia played at home to someone recently enough. can't think of the game of the top of my head but certain they both played, with Nani on the left, not too long ago (with Nani doing better than usual on the left, but not as good as his performances vs Arsenal, City etc)

EDIT - In fact, it was against Pompey.

Yeh, Nani did play on the left against Pompey. He played ok, but as well as before. His ban is over now though, thank god. Although Park has done ok in his time out, still doesnt offer enough going forward I think.

In terms of going forward for the rest of the season, I think playing Nani consistantly on the left and hoping he can adjust is the best way forward. Valencia won't be able to play on the left, and is offering a lot down there atm. That said, I'm not as sure that he can offer it against the better defences we'll encounter later this season.

My man of the match against Villa in the carling cup final last sunday. Ok when he go to their box he was like a rabbit caught between the headlights but still looked a good threat going forward. This is the one position that needs to be addressed in the summer by fergie.

who? Nani from the left or Valencia from the right?

I have no worries about Valencia doing it vs better defences, just needs the confidence and support to do so imo.

    whens Giggsie back?

    whens Giggsie back?

Fergie said last week that he would be back in training this week. Don't know if that was actually what happened. According to Ben Hibbs he was still in a cast on wednesday or thursday (can't remember which day i read the tweet on), but he could be doing full training with the cast on I suppose. Press conference in a couple of minutes so we should start to hear news soon enough regarding Giggs and Owen.

Haven't head but I'm guessing not for tomorrow.

When it happened he was given a slight chance of making the Milan game, but more realistically, it will be next weekend, or the weekend after.

Rumours that Ferdinand will be back to face Wolves. Would be nice to see Vidic and Rio get a run of games together.

Given the source, the story is probably a crock of sh!t based on misquotes and fantasy

Yeah read that earlier. Wouldn't surprise me to be honest, wasn't he quoted during the week saying that he had been doing full training, he just felt a twinge in the back on the day or day before the CC final so they didn't risk him, with him not playing that it was pretty much an automatic with drawl from the friendly, so I would assume he is right to go tomorrow.

He needs tomorrow anyway, don't fancy him going straight in to the Milan game.

As Mitch said hopefully Fergie will reveal all in the press conference.

After his performance against AC Milan he badly needs a run of games to get his match fitness and sharpness back.

BBC (on their online sports ticker) saying Owen is out for the rest of the season with a hamstring injury....

    WHAT THE HELL?

Big pressure on Diouf and Kiko (if he is around?) to take his place in the last couple of months so.

Thats not good news but then you can't exactly rely on an injury prone player. He hasn't exactly played a lot of football anyway. It just takes away an option. Hopefully Berba and Rooney continue their good form and Diouf steps up to the mark when he gets the odd chance.

    Ben Hibbs has :
So then, Michael Owen out for rest of the season. Op on Monday

Hibbs: Good news, Owen Hargreaves 'almost ready to play'. Pencilled in for next Thursday's reserves game v City

    Horrible news about Owen:(

so, from what i can gather, we can only have one Owen off the injury table at a time.

Also, I'll believe it when I see it, already expecting for him to have a 'minor' set back on Wednesday or Thursday morning.

Rio back in contention for tomorrow.

Giggs won't be back for Milan.

Macheda back in first team training next week.

    Owen out for the season.

Hargreaves maybe back for reserves in a week.

    A rrrrrreal mixed bag today.

I'll believe that when I see it.

The constant lies about his recovery have left me a little skeptical...

Time for Macheda or Diouf to step up or for us to recall Welbeck.

if there is a doubt on him I would bench him instantly, and only bring him on if we had to. Too many bigger and potentially a lot tougher games to come; not least the Milan game next week.
