Nothing funny about it at all, I was just on Facebook looking at my school photo when I was 12 jesus he's not much above being tucked in, wetting the bed and getting excited about sleeping at his friends house.

Absolutely right. I've been avoiding posting in this thread because it would've ended in a row had I said what I thought of some of the comments. I don't know about that, tbh. Sexual abusers are far too leniently punished for their crimes. Although, the punishment of this woman is still better than the woman who abused her own kids here and got seven years, the maximum allowed here constitutionally.

We all know there are some among us that would scream this if it was flipped over to middle aged man and underage girl.

Why isn't there a flip of this being screamed for the woman? Equality between sexes = aboslute non-existant bollox! Especially in the justice system! Not only that but within the publics eyes it's never the same card being played just because of sex!

There is a double standard going on. Personally I think it's stupid. If we are all ment to be equal then we should all be treated equally. Not get have the cracks off the whip just because of our gender!

Also it's well known that the majority of girls mature mentally and sexually well before boys so if you think about it, this womans offence might actually be considered worse than if it had been a man grooming a young girl. Both situations are disgusting but she has been laid off easy. (no pun intended) It can be dressed up and sugar coated as much as people like but over all the fact is she repeatedly raped a defenceless young boy and has gotten off easy over it. I think an awful lot of it is to do with assigned sexual roles and the idea that sexual women are "slappers" and sexual men are "studs". I have just found it bizarre that there are men in here effectively congratulating a child for being groomed and sexually abused. While these sorts of attitudes prevail, there will be gender inequality in the legal system.

And I don't think her behaviour can be considered any worse than a male counterpart's. Judging this story in terms of the better or worse gender will do nothing to close the divide.

Well... This is a technical question now. Y'know how she had sex with him. Surely on SOME level he'd have had to have been er... "willing". Whereas if the roles were reversed, that's not the case. So maybe it is worse the other way around.
