Oh, well I haven't even tried mine anywhere yet so I hope I don't have problems! Email them and tell them it's not working for you!

Got all the details and all but still it won't process it. HAve emailed Wirecard many times now, no reply.. I kinda want to get my 70 euros back from them now and cancel my account..

I'm having the exact same problem, first time using wirecard, put 160 on it to buy tyres but the site wont accept it, emailed them but no reply

I used my Wirecard to buy some items from Komplett for the first time last week and had no problems at all.

I also used my wirecard a few times last week on amazon and it works perfectly. Have yet to try it at a Point of Sale or ATM but it will probably be fine (i hope!) :D Also its useful to top up my wirecard account by bank transfer and if i see something on ebay i can use it to top up my paypal and save the 3 days of waiting for the bank transfer to there too.

Bit off topic but the orioncard (formally ryanair) is down from 80e per year to 30e. I've had it for a year now and cant fault it a bit. Load at any post office and money is there in 3-4 hours. Even saturdays.

..had to setup a new account n write to them to close the old one

I want to close my wirecard account as I'm going to use those prepaid gift cards instead. What's the best way to close a wirecard account? Should I get the balance to zero or can they transfer my balance back to my CC etc? If I get it to zero can I just stop using it and forget about it or do I need it to be actually closed?
    thanks

I noticed some guys here are using Wirecard with the German iTunes store. What did you enter for the billing address? It looks like it will only take a German one.

They seem to have changed the login page (and possibly the URL). Is everyone seeing the same thing I am?

    wcardlogin.png

... and the url is now: https://secure.mywirecard.com/wirecard/ ???

Better safe than sorry, and all that.

It's legit. The owner of the certificate is Wirecard AG. Mine's all in German for some reason :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 83 ✭✭Protocol7

Yeah it changed a few days ago. Mine is also all in German even though I have English set in my account preferences. I can still find my way around it OK.

I'm using www.mywirecard.com and it's perfectly legit and in English so I don't what you guys are doing! There's a new login screen and that's about it.

I used to login through: www.wirecard.com/wirecard

But it directs me to the new page, lol...i was just gonna ask as well if the new page was legit or a fake website,

That's fixed it. I was going through the old URL.

Got a virtual wirecard. Works as a pre-paid mastercard on teh ryanair website, so free fees at the moment on it. Happy with that.

Hi guys, just wondering if anyone has successfully upgraded to Wirecard Plus? They ask you for two utility bills, e.g. phone, water, but personally I don't receive any bills in my own name. Also, what's the easiest way to get the passport copy certified? I'm thinking maybe a bank manager?

I have upgraded to wirecard plus. If you live at home then just use your bank statment and maybe car insurance letter as proof of address. Anything will do if its recent and in your own name! And also, the gardai are the best and easiest place to certify your passport. I went to them. Two days later they emailed me and said i have successfully upgraded to Wirecard Plus.

Ok now my question - Has anyone had experience with using wirecard on the PSN? i tried to register my wirecard to buy the resident evil 5 DLC but playstation keeps saying "The Credit Card information is not valid. Please check your entries carefully." So i checked, double - checked and triple - checked and no luck... 3v vouchers always used to work for me, so why not wirecard???? :(

Akaik, from searching the net when I came up against that issue a while ago, no virtual credit card works on PSN.

You can buy €20 and €50 PSN vouchers in Gamestop and the like.

Excellent. Will do that then.... Thanks!:)

I did exactly the same. Get what you think you can send, and email them asking if it's OK to use that.. they'll let you know.

It's simple really.. and takes very little time for them to get back saying you're the man. :P

Does anyone know how to cancel the physical mastercard? I ordered it last year because I thought I was going to need one for a trip I was planning. In the end I never used it. I didn't think it automatically renewed, but they charged me a little while back for another year's use of it. My current wirecard details will expire when this year is up. I'm just wondering if they automatically issue you with another physical card or if there is a procedure to cancel it and just keep the virtual one.

WFT I have the physical card too, its buried in my desk drawer used it once about 2 years ago, haven't even logged in, this reminds me of the urban elgend of College students opening accounts in freshers week to get free phone credit, lodging say EUR 10, never used them and over time the Govt Stamp duty, every year, putting them into the red, and receiving a snotty letter from the bank, urging them to "review" their account

When I applied for the card they also issued me new account details giving me a fresh 2 year account. Once this year is up they'll have to do the same. I'm just wondering if they'll automatically issue me a new physical card (and charge me for it) or if I have to request it again.

I'm not a hundred percent certain on this, but I thought that your Wirecard gets cancelled if you have €10 or less in your Wirecard account when it comes to the renewal date as they charge you €10 for renewal?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 247 ✭✭Carne

I don't think this has been asked before but is it possible to transfer money from your Wirecard to your Paypal account?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,756 ✭✭✭vector

I just logged in for the first time in 13 months, and see my balance is about -EUR 23! because of the annual fee for the physical card, I've lost interest in theis gimmick and have a real BOI card, how do I sever my relationship with wirecard,

Yes it is. But if you just set your wirecard as your primary card in Paypal and dont bother topping up the paypal account, then when you make a purchase with paypal it will automatically charge it to your wirecard if your paypal balance is empty.

Does it matter if my Paypal balance is zero or not as I already topped it up recently via bank transfer and would adding my Wirecard add to the overall balance?

Has anyone here with a wirecard upgraded it to Wirecard plus? Wirecard plus allows you to topup the card with up to €1,000/week instead if my €150 weekly limit. I was thinking of doing it but to do it I must send them a certified copy of my ID and according to their form:

The following people can act as “certifiers:”
    • Lawyer
    • Chartered Accountant
    • Notary Public
    • Member of Judiciary
    • Senior Civil Servant
    • Actuary
    • An Embassy, Consulate or High Commissioner of the
    • country of issue of the document
    • Director, Officer or Manager of a regulated financial
    • services business (e.g., Bank Manager) operating in an
    • equivalent jurisdiction to Germany*
In Ireland I thought certified copys of a passport were able to be done by the Gardai? Yet on their form there is no mention of the police?

I had to certify my account years ago before there was anything called "Wirecard Plus". I simply downloaded the form, filled it out and got a solicitor to write the needed words and sign it. They weren't that strict on it to be honest.
