question about flashing 360- philips 83850c drive

    hi
    a friend of mine asked me to flash his xbox which has this drive but i ve been having some problems

    i previously flashed a ms25 and a benq , but never had problems similar to these

    using jungleflasher 0.1.70 , have portio installed
    jf detectes my drive , but i have 0 com ports present and i cant get the fw from the drive with the half closed drive method, i think this is where the problem lies

    have win 7, a pci via card 6421 and a intel Intel Desktop Board DX58SO

    tried using google but im more confused then before

    You have a Philips/LiteOn 83850C v2, this won't dump like a regular drive ..you have to seek other methods like a pin lift. Either way some work needs to be done on the circuit board of the drive, this isn't a simple BenQ/Samsung flash ;)

    Also, although JF runs under x64 Win7...it simply doesnt work effectively. So make sure your using an x86 OS.

    ye i am using windows 7 x86
    i tought i had a v2 too, however when i gooled about it, i didnt get a confirmation of that.
    people with a v2 were getting error messages from jf saying that it didnt support a v2 , i didnt get anything like that.
    also my drive says may 2009 which would make me think is more a v1 than a v2

    If it's a v1 then why can't you dump the firmware using the half-open method? What is your error? I've a v1 83850C and I've flashed iX LT to it only last weekend.

    i get an error sayin no com ports found at the start

    then when i try the procedure ,it gives me an error like in the pic

    i tried using lo83 and freekey from dos too. but no luck with that either

    have u seen something like this?

    ye im using the jungleflasher guide , according to that
    l083 would tell me at the start if it is a v2, so it has to be a v1

    good news for that part
    i was able to get the dummy file

    one question about the erease step .

    as shwn in the pic, the guide says u shuold get good flash chip properties
    and im not gettin them..
    what happens if i continue

    drive is in vendor mode
