    Well, now you know the abysmal standard of teaching my science teacher is capable of...
    Kinda frightening knowing I've yet to learn all that...
    I wouldn't worry too much, we had a change of teachers every year (one was poor, one was alright and one was good). Most of the science course can be done yourself tbh. If you do honours maths the physics should be no problem, same for biology, chemistry is the only thing that some explanation may be needed (but might not be).

    The only problem you'd have then is the experiments.

    Honour maths... links with biology? Don't get it!

    I'd actually go the other way and say you could do chemistry yourself but would need an explanation for physics! I do <3 chemistry though. Plan on doing it for leaving cert!

    "If you do honours maths the physics should be no problem"

    This is for things like the basic formulae you get as JC, like Density = Mass/Volume. Y'know, to find volume you'd be able to change the formula to Volume = Mass/Density!

    Jumpguy; what Jack meant was that he read it as though you said honours maths would also be helpful with biology.

    Jack; what jumpguy meant was that biology should be no problem to do by yourself, not that honours maths is needed.

    Just a general question here (for the below poster to answer) in relation to English: What are your objectives when doing the Functional Writing section?

    To make a clear concise answer using the relevent format and vocabulary while still trying to show the examiner that you understand the question fully and show off as much expression/vocabulary as possible. I hope report writing comes up! I'm pretty class at it. Although when she corrected our speeches in our copies I did well, I would rather not see that because it involves more thought and takes me longer than the alotted time

    Ok, I don't see an open question so I'm going to ask several (because they are optional subjects; you can choose to do whatever one you want):

    Business: Name the 4 documents needed to be prepared in order to form a private limited company.

    Science: What is the difference between an element, a mixture and a compound?

    French: Write out the verb "Avoir" in the present tense.

    Religion: What is morality?

    Technology:
    Picture1-5.png?t=1265550609

    I'll get a few more questions in a second.

    Science:
    An element is a substance composed of only one type of atom.
    A mixture is a combination of elements, not chemically binded.
    A compound is a combination of elements that are chemically binded.

    Relgion:
    Morality is the difference between what is right and what is wrong.

    You weren't meant to make it so easy.

    Next time upload it to photobucket (etc) and it won't be so easy or make a screenshot, crop it and post that.

    How am I making it easy? That question came up in a CSPE exam??? I only done CSPE cause alot of the questions here were science related and I thought I'd change things a bit...

    New question
    Mention two reason why Sinn Féin won the 1918 general election

    That's too much effort for me . .I'll just leave it anyways!

    What I think was meant was that it was too easy to cheat.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,840 ✭✭✭Luno

    Everything is too easy to cheat, mocks christmas exams etc. To fight the temptation to cheat however . . .

    No, it was to easy to cheat on your question, not in exams. :)

    Explain anything about trigenometry(sp) [This is for my revision...]

    For right angled triangles, you use sin, cosine and tan.
    Sin = o/h
    Cosine = a/h
    Tan = o/a

    For non right angled triangles, you use the sin rule: a/sin A = b/Sin B = c/Sin C. You take the angle opposite the side.

    Each bit of information is relevant. Piece it together and redraw the diagram with the angles etc marked in. Remember, only look at the triangle, the building or sea or whatever it is most likely doesn't matter unless there are angles/sides marked in.

    Science: What is an isotope?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,049 ✭✭✭CookieMonster.x

    Isotopes are atoms of the same element with different number of protons. Correct me if I'm wrong.

    Irish: Put these verbs from the past tense into the present tense:
    Bhris mé
    Chaith sibh
    Chaitheamar
    Fuair tú
    Bhí sé

    Thanks WanderingSoul; Isotopes are atoms of the same element with different number of neutrons.

    Different number of neutrons.

    Bhris mé = Briseann mé
    Chaith sibh = Caithann sibh
    Chaitheamar = Caitheaimid
    Fuair tú = I think this is an exception? Give me a moment.
    Bhí sé = Ta sé

    History: Give the main results (in brief) of a plantation you studied.
