Beware?

xbox360 ::

I was in pre-game lobby there last night and player with the gamertab "F UCK YOU NOOBS" arrived in. His gamertag was actually displayed in BOLD RED fonts.....

Anyone know the what's the story with that? I immediately assumed this guy was dodgy with a modded console and made quick sharp EXIT, I feared it may have been negative XP hackers or someone equally as suspect.

Anyone else seen this guy? Any ideas on how he managed to do this?

a modded xbox , i wouldnt worry about negative xp , if you get a kill and you see - 200,000 or more , just turn off your xbox and you will be fine.

I've been in lobbies with people with weird names like that too. One was in purple and had little icons of all the xbox controls beside it. Like Shammy said, unless you get negative xp, it's nothing to worry about.

Fair few of these guys online alright. They mod so they can do that to their tag, some have the xbox buttons in them as well. Go to the score section in barracks and look at the first 100 or so that have th ehighest score or kills and almost all of them are modded pricks. If you come across one just report them, microsoft are really cracking down at the moment in codmw2. Was reading on the official xbox site that they are permanently suspending the accounts of modded 10th prestiege guys.

I remember after halo 3 came out, about 6 months later they did a massive hammer ban, reckon we're gonna see a similar thing on mw2 as well soon enough.

People who have obtained prestige illegitimately, will be given suspensions. People soliciting other people to gain prestige (whether for free, or for points) will be permanently suspended.

To all those users who are attempting to play MW2 without cheating, please have faith. Hang in there, because the cheaters are being caught and the game will be patched.

p.s., it doesn't matter if you gained 10th prestige, 2nd, or 1st: illegitimate gameplay = suspension .

Dont know where you got permanantly banning ppl with 10th prestige from that, suspensions yes but permanant ban s are being given to people who are 10th prestige with something in their bio e.g 1600ms points to get to 10th.
The only cheaters that are being banned are the ones that are trying to scam.
The leaderboards have been glitched since day 1 , but yet they are not banned....................Have a think about it

Not yet, and I know what it says on the site. I wrote the post from trying to remember what it was I saw on it a few days ago, and then went off and found the link, either way its good news for all the legit players out there.
Was actually checking the leader boards earlier on , almost all 10th prestige, although before where it was almost the top 100 that were obviously after cheating to get high scores , seems to have dropped to less than the top hundred. Hopefully this means that the bans and suspensions are happening. As well the whole procedure for banning and suspension are on the same site as the link. The way it normally works is that the length of the suspension depends on the severity of the breaking of the code of conduct or the amount of times the user has been suspended before. The way I see it alot of the guys are doing the 10th prestige thing it won't be their first time getting a suspension. There's been a fair bit of talk about the whole thing on the gamespot forums and iw forums, seems like live are taking it really seriously and once the new patch is worked out the ****e's gonna hit the fan. In fairness they'd want to do something about everything soon or by the time the dlc comes out there'll be no one playing anymore.

Good to know they're cracking down. Do you reckon there's any point making complaints against these people, or do you think they'll just get bans in due course?

I saw one in a lobby yesterday with an incredibly racist tag in bright pink. Just lodged a complaint and backed out. Whether or not the complaint actually resulted in anything I don't know, but a don't want to play with the prick anyway.

Cant see it happening , they are telling people they are going to crack down on the people who have reached 10th prestige by illgotten means, but they wont , how can they will they do it by lets say you must have 10 days played ? a very tiny amount may get suspended but lets face it , there will be no sh** hitting the fan.

Most people dont mind 10th prestigers that have used xp lobbies simply because they dont go nuke boosting or disrupting games but yet microsoft has come out saying that nuke boosting or getting your k/d ratio up is NOT a form of cheating, and that is what pisses most people off about the game.

I remember in CoD4 this was happening too, on the PS3 anyway, it involved hex editing your save game, but they patched it fairly quickly and encrypted save data.

It could be something like on WaW, where if you put your Clan Tag as RAIN your name would go multi-coloured. You could make it go Blue, red, green or yellow as well if you had a certain Clan Tag

I dont play free for all much now, its full of boosters, if they dont engage in the first 20 seconds they are boosting and within a minute of no contact someone has a choppergunner. Its anoying because you cant vote to kick and you end up leaving the game with a loss.
