Irish racist hate-group on Facebook..

...disgusting, dispiriting, and alarming. I know racism always bubbles beneath the surface on this mighty little rock of ours, but I must confess I'm pretty shocked about the number of people who have openly joined this group called "I hate Romanian Gypsies" (sic). Even worse are the comments, which range from the self-deluded ("I'm not racist but...") to the downright vile (references to gas-chambers etc.).

I certainly don't hate Romas but they can be too aggresive when begging,though Irish beggars are not too far behind. I suppose it's learnt behaviour. I feel sorry for them being born into that lifestyle, but lets be honest-it is annoying.

I've never had a problem with any sort of beggar - no matter where they come from.

Chuggers on the other hand... a thousand "I hate chuggers" facebook groups wouldn't be enough.

Lets hope they are because if they're not you just publicaly slandered an innocent person with one of the worst possible accusations.

There has been warnings about this page been put out all over facebook by parents.
I will be at the back of a list of thousands.

I don't think anybody here has claimed otherwise, and I would expect most people to be aware of the difference. The only suggestion that the terms are interchangeable arises from the the name of the above-mentioned facebook group. Try explaining it to those cretins.

Apart from the dozens of people spreading it... is there any actual evidence of it being paedo?? I find it worrying in the extreme when we simply say "if enough people repeat it, its enough for me to believe it and repeat it".... its getting kinda Brass Eye territory.

I wonder what Facebook will do about either group....
