Macbook to Samsung 32 series 4 No Sound

Lads I have bougt the following to use my macbook on my new samung HDMI tv.

But i cant get any f***kin sound and its doing my head.

Have picture no probs but when when i attach the 3.5mm Jack to back of the tv(in numerous places) from the earphone jack on my macbook.I still cant get any sound.

it depends on where your tv picks the sound from. with HDMI on my tv, it takes the sound from the HDMI socket (wont work in this case) or the audio input. i have to go into the menu of the tv and tell it where to take the audio from, my tv is Panasonic so i'd check your manual and see if the samsung has something similar
