    * Can anyone who wants to play in the league, please get your account activated for player transfer while you wait for the league to be setup. Just contact Bolyepoker support and they will walk you through it.

I'm toying with the idea of having a $50 deposit for each player who enters the league, which will be sent back to everyone once the league is complete.

For every match people don't play, they lose $15 from their deposit. If they don't play 4 or more matches, they don't get their deposit back. Any deposits retained by Boylepoker would then we used as prizemoney for a freeroll open to all league entrants once the league is over.

Reason being, that 5/6 players dropped out during the league last year and caused a lot of difficulties for myself and other boardsies as some matches weren't played and had to be decided for them, which didn't go down too well with some people.

There's 7/8 people that have shown interest in the league this year that i can't vouch for, but i'm not singling (sp?) anyone out, as the fallout from last year was also from some reputable boardsies.

    Anyone any strong opinions?

Well a lot of people cared last year as towards the end, it got messy..

An example of last year......not naming names, but say i play my first 7 games or so and ge them out of the way, and i lose to you and Ollyk. Halfway through, Olly and yourself get bored and decide not to finish the league so everyone gets a walkover, should my defeats be overturned?

Should i be punished for playing games on time, or should i just wait till the last week incase people decide to drop out. This happened on a few occasions last year, and i'd be hoping that having a refundable deposit, might stop some people doing this, and try to complete games so that everyone is on a level playing field

That makes optimal strategy waiting to the end? Obviously thats not in the spirit of the league.

Isn't 8 weeks to finish only 8 matches very long. Make it much shorter IMO, strike when the iron is hot and people are still interested. Even make 4 matches be completed in the first few weeks then another interval for the next 4 or something? Just ideas.

So at the moment we have 67 players that have registered their interest in less than 1 day. I originally wanted 60 to be the max, as it's going to be extremely hard to work with any number bigger than this. The way things are going, and if everyone who asked actually plays, we could get more than this so i'll cap the league at 80

I'm looking for 20 players per league. The most i can accomade for a single league is 14, so once we go over this, i need to think of a new approach.

Where this will change from last year, is that each league will then be split into 2 groups of 10. They will play each other once, and the players that finish 1st/2nd in their groups will battle it out against each other in a knockout for the league prizemoney.

e.g Serie A1 and Serie A2 have 10 players each. In Serie A1 Suilen/Digiman finish 1st/2nd and in Serie A2 BigCityBanker/dougee19 finish 1st/2nd. Sulien plays Dougee and Digi plays BCB. The 2 winners will then play each other for 1st/2nd and the 2 losers will receive 3rd place.

The goalposts may move again on this, and before anyone asks..... it's not set in stone. It will depend on what numbers we have by friday. I'll then layout what the league format will be, and anyone who is not happy, is free not to play.

    At the moment, we have..

    Serie A - 20 - FULL
    Serie B - 19
    Serie C - 13
    Serie D - 15

    *Interest list

*Players aren't guranteed a place in the division they listed. If there's a lot of players looking for 1 particular league, we may split it into 2 as we did last year for Serie B, or ask players if they'd like to move up/down a league to balance it.

Yeah that's what i want to avoid.

8 weeks to finish 8 games isn't that long at all. It's only 1 game a week, and if it were to go on a week to week basis, if we have 80 players, thats 40 games to be played which means both people being online at a specific time and playing their games. It's my 3rd or 4th time running the league, and it's efo not a long time.

The first time i tried to get all week 1 matches played together, but we found that for one reason or another, the games couldn;t be played, but games further down the line could have been, so i think this is the fairest way to get everyone an equal opportunity to complete their games.

4 and 4 might be an idea (well depending on numbers) but splitting the league this way might push things a long so i may go with this.

Will maybe stagger this if i go ahead with it, and have $50 for players in A/B and $25 for players in C/D

I saw last years attempt and honestly think this is needed. Maybe have it that if you don't have at least half your games completed by half time you lose 1/3 and if you don't get your act together for the rest you lose it all.
I agree that a deposit would definitely help with the games being run on time
