Splitting the HDMI out from a UPC HD box

    Hi Guys,

    Apols if this is in the wrong forum.

    I have a UPC hd box and want to use the hdmi out to send video to a TV and Projector at the same time.

    I thought this was a simple case of buy a splitter and the requisite cables and bobs your uncle.

    I've been researching and it seems that its not as simple as that. I've found that most units have HDCP protection which stops splitting of the cable. I know that you can get boxes for ~€100 that will split a HDMI out and keep it HDCP compliant but for the few rare occasions I need the dual output it doesnt make financial sense to buy one.

    What I want to know is:

    Is the UPC box HDCP compliant?
    Has anyone managed to do what I want to do relatively cheaply...?

    I've seen them but thought they wern't HDCP compliant so won't display HD quality through both sources (and thats if it displays at all)

    This will most likely do the trick. Anybody used similar?
