Hi Folks, am I right in saying that I have missed the dates (with no chance of inclusion) in the UK courses to start in 2010? Also, I don't have Hons Irish but if I were to resit it pass it etc. would I be able to get included in the Irish Colleges for 2010? Please help.

no you havent missed the date completely! for primary the closing date is dec 1st but the gttr offer a clearing system!!!
if you apply before dec 1st gttr will send your applications to whatever unis but if you missed the date then you go into the clearing system! as far as i know this is if a uni wants to fill up their places they will go the the clearing bin and see if anyone has applied to them if they have then they will consider your application! the main difference is before dec 1st gttr will send application to uni whereas afterwards unis will have to come looking and thats only if they have space left on the course and want to fill it! hope that makes sense!

if i were you i would apply anyway...go on to gttr and look at the courses that stil have vancanies....the worst that can happen is you dont get in! so you might aswel send it off and be in with a chance!

with regard to irish i dont have it either and i looked into doing it before doing the pgce but as far as i know you can only do it afterwards and you have 5 years to it!!
    good luck!
