Bought this earlier in PC World Sligo.. saw it reduced to €70 earlier this year, and didn't buy it. Seems like great value at €50 as I don't print often and hate the general idea of USB connected printers - especially in a house of laptops - so I'm gonna bung it in a back-room upstairs.

    It's £80 at Argos - http://www.argos.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Search?storeId=10001&catalogId=1500001801&langId=-1&searchTerms=6705079&Submit=GO+%3E

Bought one yesterday - works good, feels fairly sturdy for a cheap printer. Setup was easy, works fine over wifi in Windows 7 and Fedora 12. Comes with two standard cartridges, and prints quickly.

    Great bargain!

I have been looking for a scanner/printer for a while and this looks the job. i'm not sure about the scanning specs though. Are they any good? Also, the one thing I look out for in a printer are expensive cartridges. Any idea how this fares?

Haven't tried scanning yet.. but they sound sufficient enough!

    Takes HP300 cartridges (1 x Black, 1 x Tri-Colour)..

It's €114.99 in Argos Ireland, got one on Sunnday, good buy.

The scanning is not the best but it will do me.

This is also a good buy, higher scan resolution.

If you are buying cartridges for this there is a high yield black version of the 300 cartridge, which from memory is about a tenner more but has 3 times the ink.

Same for the colour but it only has about 2.5 times the amount of ink in it. Still better value than the standard cartridges.

Yeah the 300 black and colour have 5ml of ink iirc, the 300xl have 11ml's

I got a colour and black refill from this guy on eBay €15-€16 pretty good I think.

It's €46.81 on Pixmania, of course then realised shipping fees on top of it makes it more expensive. Good deal I'm going to get one of these thanks OP!

    pc world tallaght have any..?

Not sure about Tallaght, but picked up 2 of these in Carrickmines earlier, good few left so I'd say it's likely they still have some in other stores.

I was in the Carrickmines (Dublin) branch today and the price has risen to €60.

My local tesco had a few good printer deals. a canon for around 39euro and a HP one too think at half price of 49euro. Just saw in passing so hopefully someone can add more details.

Yes, but I spoke to the manager about the fact that they were 49.99 in other branches and he gave me the two I bought for 49.99 each.

Go Harvey Norman (was in Nutgrove myself). There's a huge stack of them there. Say it's €50 in PC World. Bingo.

I bought mine in limerick today ,i only went in to buy it as i saw it here on the thread, and the fact i need one.But like another person posted it was 59.99. I couldnt remember the price i saw on the thread so i believed it must be 59.99.:mad:As i have to go back tomor with my old printer(weee)which the pakistani guy hadnt a clue what i was talking about:eek:, i will be asking them for my tenner back?
People might let us know if there still 49.99 in their local shops, as they still had a stack of them in limerick shop.

My aunt picked one up in Limerick on Friday - price was €59.99 - she mentioned that it was €49.99 in other stores, the sales guy just said the price was gone up, and that was that - no budging on the price at all.

Bought 1 of these today very happy with it on my LAN, the sales assistant tried to sell me an Ethernet cable at 7.99, said there wasn't one included.

Be warned>**you dont need it and theres no connection for it**

I called PC World in Liffey Valley today and they said it is now at €59.99. Still much cheaper than other places but it is hardly the kind of bargain to venture on on those roads for. I reckon I will wait a few weeks and get the next discount on it.

Bought one of these in Harvey Norman about a year ago for €80, I'd say it was a bargain even at that price!
It's easy to use and set up, no probs with wireless or scanning and the print quality is v good.
Sales assistant convinced me I needed to buy ink cartridges as the ones supplied wouldn't last long, but after a fair bit of printing they're still going! I'd advise not to buy ink instore and buy online for about half price when you need it!

Still, well worth €80, never mind €60

    Hi guys,

We have an Epson 8400 at home and it drinks ink. Just wondering how this would compare? If its cheaper to run then Id buy it. Cartridges for the Epson are about €45 for the pack. For this one it works out about €30.
