A millionaire caught speeding in Switzerland has been hit with a record-breaking €200,000 fine.

Judges at the cantonal court in St. Gallen arrived at the sum by basing it on his estimated personal wealth of over €17m.

The court said the repeat offender drove up to 35 mph faster than the 50 mph limit.

The unidentified driver can still appeal the decision to the Swiss supreme court.

The fine was more than twice the previous Swiss record.

    Based on his wealth!!

I wonder will he ever get the message....

I got fined 17cent for the very same offence, nothing like social justice.

If he's done it repeatedly the prick deserves, speeders do nothing more than put other's lives at risk.

If the fine was based on his common sense it would be alot lower

If it wasn't for the above in bold I would suggest inviting him over here.... He could slowly start balancing out the national debt.... :p
