    edit - and sure enough....

Looks like it will start 5.3 on betfair

Not a drifter, just a bit weak against the odds on chance

WOW that was easy..... 5.25 on betfair

I wouldn't say it was weak, seemed to stay fairly steady compared to others recently.
Great win against the odds on shot

I ment on betfair, and in the sense that it wasnt strongly punted. It went 0/30 with the bookies just before the off and was returned at 7/2. Not a drifter by any stretch. Easy to get on was probably what I should have said. An easy win. The 8lbs difference made it very comfortable.

Cant see The Hardy Boy Etc being a drifter. Theres bound to be liabilities on the double, though you never know I suppose.

I would say ther would be quite a few Lucky 15's running on these tips. I normally do one, but forgot, good luck to anyone who did..

7/2 Master Overseer and easy to get on at 9/2 on betfair.

Might have to have a saver on Tarquinis. It looks a 2 horse race on Betfair.

fk me what a race he ran. He traded at 15 in running and was being ridden with a circuit to go......Tarquinius was layed at 1/5 in running.....

It would be great if he does and Pyman knocks his in for the Lucky 15 boys.

That's exactly what I have in my lucky 15, tom's 3 and pyman's tip to prop it up, and then tom's in singles. Money printing at it's best :)

It'll be thin pickings tomorow with one card at Wolverhampton. No wonder Hugh Taylor is taking a few days off. The weather outlook is pretty desperate. Could be no NH at all this week.

It could be a poor week as you say Mike. I wonder at the idea that there is a value tip every single day anyway and no days when the pros wont have a bet. The same question can be changed to, why is there never 3 on the same day? I would respect them more if they said keep your money in your pocket, the racing is awful.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 88,968 ✭✭✭✭mike65

I agree its not like the fare or the scope for value is the same every day. I'd sooner have say 4 good chances a week than 1 marginal chance every day.

i dont know how you pick which segal tips out of the paper you back but over the sticks you can get beat because you cant get the prices i have been following segal for 3 years and have gone from 2000 bank to 7000 mostly on betfair i am so happy now pricewise extra is here won more in last year than in 10 years of gambling stick to flat may to september he will win money let see what you all do when he picks 6 a day at cheltenham and like 2 years ago didnt get a winner if tom segal told you to back a spider running up a wall would you

to be honest I do think the way he tips at Cheltenham is a bit ridiculous, but I'd say he's instructed to tip a horse in all those races, with all the graded races and high class handicaps. As far as I remember he only got 1 short priced winner at this years Cheltenham, and he had no winner from all the many antepost tips he gave in the months before Cheltenham. I don't bother with the antepost myself.
It definetley is true about may to September, you could even say April to September. He just cleans up in the summer, definetley gna go big stakes next summer, big profits to be made every month, and very important to get up early and down to the newsagents, to at least get close to the price he advises.

I am not sure about your conclusion on Segal over the Sticks. The Pricewise Column in the paper shows 15 placed horses from the last 18 bets and 5 of them were winners.
    5/1-9/4
    22/1-8/1
    20/1-10/1

dont think anyone is going to back everything he tells you too, you do have to scope out the market and the form yourself

its a funny game alright. of course socio/politically it exists to give the poor false hope and stop them getting too irked with the great inheritors one of whom the mongrels over here are thinking of electing as prime minister. go figure.

The all weather is a bit of a joke - you see horses that wouldnt even get a race in ireland goin over to england and winning in them. Segal said in his paper column yesterday that hes only bet on the AW about 5 times in his life because he prefers to work out which horse will run the best instead of which bad horse will run less slowly
