bloody hell. it wasn't anything like that bad here.
I just had to be careful here walking the dog - managed not to fall at all, bar once.
Christmas morning, coming in from the next door neighbours house, fell on a patch of ice with water over it, landed on my thumb. didn't break it, but it was bloody sore. had to put a brave face on it for the family dinner :)
made opening the champagne a bit tricky.

Yeah it was awful bad...you wouldn't be able to walk on this. I heard more extreme cold conditions on their way though :(

I have to say I haven't fallen yet :D - but then again i never walked anywhere. I put my car in danger instead :D

what gets me is I walked the 4km odd from trainstation to office and back each day no problem, then I slip outside the house!

and this is the main road (or the R623 as the non-locals call it) at Glounthaune train station:

Just got back to cork from wicklow roads were 100% snow and ice free. Work tomorrow dammit :-(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,579 ✭✭✭Webmonkey

Ice free for now but when snow freezes...its ugly! - I had some close shaves.

Decided I wouldn't bother going up this evening. I'll let it to tomorrow afternoon instead.

I'm actually glad I'm going back to 'work'....least then I'll have a routine going...sick of this business of going to bed 4am and getting up 2/3pm in the day! Didn't go sleep until 7.30am this morning. Always happens when I'm off on a break!

it's a pain walking in this weather. the paths are fairly slippy and it takes way longer. bring on the thaw!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,579 ✭✭✭Webmonkey

Place was in sh*t this morning! The drive to CIT was interesting when I decided turn left at the model farm road industrial estate and took shortcut through housing estate. Crazy...all of CIT is slippy too.
