Ireland's most senior Cardinal, Dr Cahal Daly, has been taken Belfast City Hospital where he is said to be seriously ill.

At 92 its going to be pretty dangerous. I'm guessing it could have been a heart problem. Hope he pulls through anyway.

In fairness, I'm not being mean when I say this, he is Old, it's what they do, get sick and die. He has lived a full life, why can't people celebrate lives instead of mourning death!!

Besides, he has faith, if he dies, he goes to heaven if it exists, that's gotta be a good thing right?

People need to get a grip, people get sick everyday, just because they are public figures doesn't mean we have to have a condolance or best wishes thread for every single one of them.

Brian Lenihan, fair enough, he is young and has a family.

Cardinal Daly, he is 92 and has no family to speak of. He probably believes he is going to the kingdom of heaven, so how is the fact that he will probably die soon so sad?

Didn't realise he was 92. We all should be so lucky to see that age.
Here's one that is hoping to if I can just keep ducking the wifes kitchen knives and frying pans.
