garmin 1340 problems

    my garmin 255W died last week so i replaced it with a 1340 on wednesday. i transfered my favorites and they all appeared in the favorites folder ok. I was in Scotland on thursday and when i went searching for some of my favorites lots of them were missing. The unit also turned itself off about 20 times during the day.

    I returned it to where i got it from on friday and they replaced it. I transfered my favorites again onto the new one, checked they all appeared in the favorites folder and all was well friday evening. I went to use it again this evening and loads of the favorites are missing again.

    Anyone any ideas or had similar experiences.

    Bear in mind that your favourites are dynamically sorted based on your present location. The favourites at the botton of the list are always the furthest away.

    i know that, the problem is that they were missing altogether. when you do a search they are not there!
