    Hi folks,

Grateful for a bit of advice. My folks have a standard sky box at home. Just picked up a second hand sky + box which I'll install for them when I go home for Christmas.

Is there anything I need to get or do I need to call sky to get anything sorted?

Will the box just start working once I plug it in and transfer the viewing card?

(they have a standard sky package with sky sports).

    Thanks,
    Quad

Don't know much about this, but you'll need a second feed from the dish to the box at least.

I'll take a look for your new thread now. At some point I will probably upgrade to a Sky HD box and will want to hand this Sky + box off to my folks. Couldn't get anyone to install it when I investigated before and I'm definitely not throwing away a working box that I paid €100 for back in the day.

Since the OP has cross-posted this in satellite, I think closing is the right thing to do here.
