Simon wants to bring the X Factor franchise to America. So I guess that's why this finale is sooo cheesy, smaltzy, "sincere" and family centric. I half expect an American flag to flutter on screen like on America's got Talent and a guitar playing Iraqi soldier to come out to a weeping audience. :rolleyes:
