My Mum went and ratted to me. I was actually vacillating before that and would have probably got another year out of it as well.

I didn't exactly find my presents, one Christmas eve I found the wrapping paper that my presents miraculously appeared in the next day.

I never told my parents as it was obvious they got such pleasure out of wrapping them and waiting for my reaction.

It wasn't the same after that though.

    So true.

I can't remember how I found out...I think I just figured it out.

When I was in third or fourth class, I was insistant he was real because there was no way my parents could afford all the presents.
I think that was around this time, or after that, that I found the receipt for one of my presents, so I told my friend, who told his brother who told his mother who told my mother who told me I was being nosy, and that Santa was real. And that the receipt was for presents bought for one of my Dad's friend. How gullible I was :)

I just realised that is it impossible for a man do what he's meant to do, about 9 or 10.

Even now my parents still say Santas coming haha.

I let them think i still believed for another 4 years. That way i got presents off my mam, presents off my dad and presents off santa.. im an evil genius.
Ha, I did that as well, my parents are really soft and couldn't bear to tell me the truth, so while I figured it out naturally when I was around 9, they thought I still believed it when I was around 13 :D

    Extra pressies FTW :D

    Er, wow.
    How'd that work?

Parents bought presents and stuck them under the tree, which I'm guessing is the same as happened for everyone else?

Yes - and then said they were from Santa.
    But you implied they didn't.
    So, how'd that work?

Was never said that the presents were from santa, they were always from whoever it was that had gone down the shops and bought them.

Quite late - girl in my class told me when I was 10. But then I was in denial for a few months ("of course Santa doesn't come to her - she doesn't believe in him") but by that Christmas I underwent a conversion - to not believe in Santa was "cool" and grown-up so I was quite happy to be filled in on the truth.

Wow. So i assume there were no major 'Santa doesn't exists moments'

I kinda suspected for a while, but kept my suspicisions quiet so as to get more presents!:D
But then a wrote a letter to Santa, asking him how Mrs. Claus was etc. and left it with the milk, biscuits and carrot.

My sis wrote back as santa. I was looking at the letter a few days later and copped that it was my sister's writing. So I just said in a really sad voice "Santa's not real, is he?":(

Edit: I think I was around 10. But in hindsight, i was really stupid. My parents used to leave Smyth's toystore price tags on the presents!

    Nope.

Think there may have been some moral lesson they were trying to teach about not telling lies or similar such pointless exercise.

Worked it out myself at about the same age I figured out how to do long multiplication

Same issue. At first, you doubt it is true. But then it just makes sense :D

Managed to milk it for a year or 2 after .

    I was around 10 too.
Was about two weeks before Christmas and I was in my parents bed on a Saturday morning. Both my parents were downstairs, but they left the radio on...
"my kid has been writing this huge list of presents he wants for Christmas, how am I supposed to buy all this". And then it clicked.
It was 2 weeks before Christmas, man....
