Loved that episode for the most part. Not perfect, but one of the better ones so far. Pretty pissed that we have to wait 4 months though.

Perhaps they could heal quickly, or had some form of interface already implanted to allow for an easier connection.

Fight was interesting, but a bit melodramatic.
YOUNG (quietly, ominously): Are we done?

RUSH (viciously): We'll never be done.

Thought Young would have thrown him up on his shoulders and carried him back through the gate. Guess he is a badass.

Grim and getting grimmer..............I like it. It is definitely stepping away from the original SG genre and going a passed what we thought was going to be a ST Voyager spin off.

Eli is starting to pi$$ me off though, his character is so flaky and its like "oh shiny thing" and walks too it. Think they could drag the ass out of this Sg though - how long are they supposed to have been gone 1-2 months?

Ely reminds me of Malcolm in "Malcolm in the middle".

Even though he's the main character it turns out all the other characters are more interesting, funny, and not annoying.

I've also wondered how long they are gone?

Oh and another thing that I had to laugh at was the shoes comment one of the scientists made. He said he wished he had been wearing better shoes. Well why doesn't he use the lovely runners they all had when they were working out.

Also why would the interface on the chair bore holes in the side of a humans head if we have the same physical body as ye ole aincents:confused:

    Prototypes are a bitch!

Really enjoyed this one, didnt think Young would leave Rush there, thought it looked basass when Rush stood up and you could see space behind him!

I thought the episode was a bit Meh, but looking at the poll results Im glad to be the minority for once. You couldnt convince me this show is disappearing anytime soon.

Does anyone think it looks like a Runabout from ST?

Good episode of what has become my favourite new show. I echo what others have said in that Carlyle is the best thing about the series, Rush better find some way of getting off that planet!

Never saw Young doing something like that at the end, always thought Rush was the "bad guy with hidden motive". Fantastic episode, loved it.

But it's not back till April?? Why not? I need my fix!

I was going to give up on Stargate, but I really liked this episode. It was more a like a battlestar episode.

The ending really did make the whole episode and I definitely think the alien ship will play into Rush getting back to the Destiny (though even if he figures out how to fly the thing - given he can't even enter it yet - how will he find where the Destiny has gone too?).

April though? I hate these damn mid-season breaks...

How will he catch up and how will he know when Destiny stops off at a planet!?

That's what I'm wondering and the big question I have is, is that ship big enough to fit through a Stargate?

Brilliant! Best one so far. I think he was right to leave Rush behind, he cant lead a strong command with having someone so dangerous on board.

Really good episode, one of the best! Hopefully we've seen the season's low episode ("Life" imho).

    I'm sure that Future Episode
Rush will be back before seasons end. Sure doesn't he have a part to play in that controversial quadriplegic body-swapping episode

TBH by the time it returns I'll probably just put it off until after the LC so late June for me:(:(

Considering the ship is a totally unique technology, it has the potential to do absolutely anything really, for all we know the ship could be able to shrink smaller to fit a Stargate, it could have some sort of mental warp drive capabilities, it could do ANYTHING because we have no reference to base that races technology on.it could be the most badass ship ever :D

Thats unlikely given that thousands/millions of years later on Atlantis the Alterrans operated a fleet of Puddle Jumpers, not Self-Shrinking Battleships.

We do have a reference: the Antarctic Chair, Atlantis, Puddle Jumpers, Repositories, the Window of Opportunity device, Stargates (Esp. Pegasus gates), The weapon @ Dakarra, and Aurora class Battleships. Any of these would be immensely more advanced than anything on Destiny.

Why would an alien ship lightyears away from anything else ancient want to fit into the stargate for...? It would only be able to go to the destiny for the moment wouldn't it? We saw one ship detatch from the main ship, so they more than likely have FTL travel themselves...

Well firstly, it's looking like the ship that came off Destiny and the one that's crashed are two different ships, possibly. Also, how long have those gates been there? Any alien race who came across them and got them to work may have just built small ships for ease of use.

Man this feels good, I missed deliberating about SGA season finales..

Just when I thought the season was picking up and getting into the swing of it - I read here on boards.ie that it's a season break and it's not back till APRIL!!! FFS!

The opening scenes I was Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh knew something like this was going to happen. I guess cabin fever would kick in. Then the kangaroo court stepped in. Snooze-o-rama. Seriously, if I were on board a ship whiney Chloe would be the last person I'd want to defend me. I'd get OJ's or Michael Jackson's lawyer to defend me using the stones.

I like the fact that the IOA took over (never thought I'd be saying that). The military have some very unstable characters running around with guns, some of which had been locked up, the scientists are more of fixers than leaders so it was about ti,e Camille stepped up. She needed to be firmer. Everything aside she is a HR person so one of the better choices of a leader also less conflicted (than a military/scientific viewpoint). I was kind of hoping she'd banish Chloe off the ship after the kangaroo court debacle. Also she should have stood her ground with TJ, Scott, Young etc... She shouldn't have relinquished control back to Young. They need an 'independent' unbiased leader who can listen to both sides with our preformed judgements.

Eli annoys me (not as much as her whinyness Chloe) but this episode has me warming up to him slightly. Anyone else think that he not as pally-pal with Young after their last conversation. He looked VERY uncomfortable with Young's order. Makes me wonder is he knows that Rush will turn up sometime. A little insurance policy.

Rush - I love that character. Don't get me wrong, if I were trapped on a ship with him and working with him I'd be gone mad. I love the way you think you know what he's going to do and then BAM! he does the opposite. You want to like him but he is a bit of a b**terd. VERY Machiavellian of him. I like the way he does something quietly and just gets on with it until someone tries to stop him (usually Young) and then he throws a bit of a wobbler. Chloe could learn alot from Rush!

I was just wondering, why don't they learn how to read and work ancient technology as well as keeping fit?!

It wasn't annoys fault but Franklen's that he sat on the chair. He knew more than Young of potential dangers and even said that if Rush thought it was safe he'd have sat there. Man that was a skirmish scene. TJ ought to get MD training though the stones for in case of emergencies (which there seems to be alot of).

Greer is growing on me too. He was really creepy when he told Camile he'd be there. Woohoo the cook has some lines.

Overall great ending. Did not expect that. I bet when Rush comes back he won't say a word. He'll bide his time. He's probably planning his revenge.

    Roll on April!

    Spoiler:
    Did Sgt. Riley die?

I'd say he was refereing to the alien ship

Self-Shrinking Battleships would be awesome tho :D

Personally, I think it's better that the military is in charge as opposed to some civvy from the IOA.

If nothing else, the military would be trained for being in tough situations and be better able to handle being on the ship and hence help everyone else along.

Also, who here thinks Eli really is going to delete that footage off his hard drive?

Even if he does delete it, he knows Rush planted the gun so he'll prob have his doubts about Young from now on about what happened on the planet... We still have to wait and see what happens between telford and and Young, so he's prob gonna get screwed over near the end of season 1  :p

rush being left behind is great

they are not going to leave him out of the show - but the **** deserved it

Hands up who is sick of the IOA taking over command of Stargate operations storylines..... (puts his own hand up)

I just think its been done to death. *remembers the south parks version of 24 episode*

I just hope thats not gonna play a part in every episode from now on.

And the guy who asked if the ship would fit in the gate had a point. Why would'nt it fit in the gate? My car could fit in the gate but it wasn't designed for it. Bit early in the day to be knocking back that suggestion. We haven't got any real idea if its the ships face or arse sticking out of the sand.

It appears to be much larger than a puddle jumper anyway, and henceforth I dont think it will fit through a standard gate. Or for that matter through a Tollan gate or a Toaster gate.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,843 ✭✭✭GSPfan

Ha. I hadn't a clue what the fook you were on about with a Toaster Gate! Forgot all about that.

You know I was thinking something. If your man wakes up with some knowledge of how to get control of Destiny you may see it turn around and go get Rush. And for that matter they will be heading back in the direction of its previous travels so there should be some storylines with that.

Did anyone find the score in this episode similar to that in the film Moon starring Sam Rockwell?
