NTL Channel changing problem

    Hi,

I have an NTL pace box and in the past couple of days have had an intermittent problem with changing channels, sometimes when I change the channel using the up/down button on the remote, it will skip to only four channels rte1, city channel, ewtn and info tv, but if you enter the number for the channel eg 102, it will go to that channel no problem. Has anyone encountered this before, can anything be done?

    Thanks

I have been having problems with the old style box recently - EPG is not updating/Guide taking for ever to load and the jumping to different channels oe completely freezing - the issue you describe above may be resolved by a reboot

I presume you mean by a reboot, turning off the box and turning it on again? If so I have been doing a reboot every day, as I tend to plug out the box at night and plug it in again as needed.

Crazy as it might seem - sometimes after doing a reboot (or plugging it out all night) you need to do a second reboot !

I had to do a reboot a few minutes ago to get the guide to work... then had to do a reboot again to get back missing channels and correct the time on the EPG....You could not make this up!! - small pace box this time, older 'big' box is slowly dying...
