I'm on a MMDS system in my estate and I have a UPC Thomson box, so I'm unsure why yea say yea can't get one.
Yea on UPC right? Was it Chorus or NTL before UPC?

I don't know why UPC can't offer a DVR to customers in the ex Chorus MMDS areas.

I know they use DVB-T over the MMDS network in those areas so the UPC cable boxes cannot be used, but there are loads of DVB-T based digital video recorders out there for use with digital terrestrial tv.

The Chorus Digital MMDS boxes are basically just Sagem DVB-T boxes with an encryption module. I can't see how it's so difficult for them to find a similar unit with a hardrive built in!

I realise it might not be the same as the service in the cable areas, but the MMDS service is drastically different anyway!
