SciFi Channel not widescreen

    Hi,

    I did some testing and only the ad breaks on the SciFi Channel transmit in widescreen.

    anybody know why this be so?

    Because the original material isn't available (to SciFi channel) in widescreen would be my guess. It's the same on lots of the other non mainstream channels.

    It is widescreen on Sky for the most part. All programmes that are native HD are simulcast in widescreen on the SD channel. For sure, some programmes which would be normally considered widescreen are not available to SciFi in that format: e.g. Medium (SciFi don't have widescreen prints of this and a few others for some reason).

    I did a bit more checking.

    WAREHOUSE 13 seems to have transmitted all its episodes in widescreen.
    Other series seem to have alternated between episodes.
